History

Established in 1989.

Great story about founders Dr. Christine Dunbar and Professor Peter Heyworth in New York on a «jolly», Dr Dunbar purchasing armloads of books which couldn’t be found in Toronto. They asked a bookseller they knew where to look for a manager, and found Joe Adelaars working at the University of Toronto Bookstores. Twenty years on, we’re one of a very few psych-(suffix) book specialists. See us in-store, online or at workshops and conferences.

Business Owner

Enough about me, already. We have a terrific staff: Janet, Vicki, Karl, Marijke, Neil & Eli. Best wishes to Eric, Jay, Luther, Brendan, Sarah & all who preceded them. Indeed, the store wouldn’t have gotten off the ground in 1989 without the vision and effort of its founders, Dr. Christine Dunbar, the late Peter Heyworth, & their families & colleagues. — proprietor, Joe Adelaars
