Like Kat F, I too would like to hate on this CIBC. It is housed in the shell of a gorgeous heritage building that is never open past five. Not only that, the ATMs are only available during branch hours. Cast iron gates block your access to the cash machines rendering this place a big brick paperweight after bank hours. This defies seventeen distinct levels of logic. I thought ATMs were meant to supplant your staff when they are out drinking away their problems or at home watching Two and a Half Men. The Scotiabank down the street has ATMs that jut out into the street. You could access them at 4am[1], if you wanted. What gives, dudes? Bank FAIL.

Need to mention: There is another (better) CIBC at University and Dundas.
What this place teaches me about myself: I can’t handle bankers’ hours.

I am low on money, due to the argent circumstance a friend kindly send me a $ 50 dollars money order by express. I’ve never given one of those before so the first thing that came to my mind was what would be better than going to a bank and have the professionals help me out? So the following day I had personally went to this branch early to have it cash out. When I walked up to this bank clerk that was about 5’5 medium skin tone and long black hair about down to her shoulder. Whom didn’t look me in the eye when she greeted me, I was staring at the tag that she had on her chest below her name which says «Excellent service». During the process she was inner experiencely dash my money order receipt under the counter while raising her voice at me asking if I can hand it back to her. And after I did a quick checking into my bag and confirmed her that she did not give me anything. She had raise her voice to me once again and stumped away angry to looked around. When she got back she was still asking me for the receipt, my friend told her that she did not give anything back. Then the finally checked her drawer and found the receipt to my money order. After that she had realized that my money order did not put to the name that is dirrectly to me. She told me she couldn’t cash it for me. I asked her if there’s anything she could do about it, make a couple of phone calls and have it confirm. And once again she raised her voice at me and told me that I had to send it back to my friend and have her put my name on it. In the end her supervisor was standing right next to her, and seems to me that they are okay with that kind of behavier.
I’ve came to understand that there’s a lot of difficulties on a job, but addictute’s everything to life. I had an job interview that afternoon, I was hoping I could deliver my very best. Having to take all the none sense from her at a early moring, wasn’t the best way I like to start out my day. I’ve gone to a few different branches in the pass from CIBC, I’ve never ran into this kind of «Excellent Service».

This is the worst CIBC branch in all of Toronto. It is almost NEVER open. The ATM cubicle portion of the branch is inexplicably linked to the branch hours, so if the branch is closed (ie always, or at least, at 4pm every day), the ATM is too.
There’s a huge wrought iron gate that surrounds the bank when it’s closed, preventing access to the ATM. Whoever devised the layout of this branch wasn’t thinking at all — there’s a dearth of reputable ATMs in the area and it’s a high traffic zone with lots of shopping and clubs. There should really be an external ATM.
