We Know Toronto! Co-​op Cabs has been providing safe, reliable and professional taxi service in Toronto. We know our way around, our red and yellow cars have been serving the communities of Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, and East York for over 55 years. Co-​op cabs was founded by a group of independent taxicab owners who had a vision to provide safe, reliable and professional service. We have grown since then, but our cooperative values remain.

History

Established in 1956.

Co-​op Cabs is a member owned taxi co-​operative whose members have been providing high quality taxicab services to persons of all physical abilities for over 55 years. As a true co-​operative, our owner/​operators exhibit a high degree of pride of ownership, which is reflected in the service we provide and in the cleanliness and maintenance of our fleet. Our stringent and comprehensive Driver Training and Screening Programs as well as our strict Disciplinary Policies produce the very best drivers in the Taxi Industry.

We have developed vast experience and competence in transportation management while servicing individuals as well as numerous institutions and organizations. We have over 1800 licensed taxi operators under contract with Co-​op Cabs. Our operators provide high levels of service to approximately 1.8 million rides per year. We are a customer-​centric organization and direct all of our efforts toward our passengers’ Safety, Service, and Satisfaction.

Manager

Heather Schell manages Co-op’s business development function and has been with Co-​op Cabs for ten years, and in her current position for seven years. Heather Schell has an accumulated twenty-​six years of experience in Customer Service with ten years in the taxi Industry. Ms. Schell’s customer service oriented professionalism and focus serves all of our customers well.
