College Street Dental

I’ve always been apprehensive going to any dentists until I found College Street Dental where they make me feel as comfortable as possible. Each of their hygienists have been great with me and they sure have helped me with my fear of being in «the chair» doing their job which I’ve always been so pleased with. Dr. Chan is one of the best dentist I’ve ever dealt with. I was really impressed after having a wisdom tooth extracted. The staff phoned me the next day to see how I was doing. Now how cool is that! The front staff is also very friendly and so nice to talk too. They have the best modern equipment available and even in the waiting room I’ve felt relaxed watching TV and helping myself to water. I would highly recommend College Street Dental to anyone! Thank you Dr. Chan and your staff for all of your wonderful dental work and especially making me feel comfortable at all times!

I am a nervous dental patient and most likely very difficult for the dental staff. I have been going to College Street Dental for about 3 years now and I would like to thank Dr. Cheng and all the staff for their patience and understanding. They are always smiling and easy to talk to. I assume they are trying to make me concentrate on something else other than the work going on in my mouth. By the way, I love the watching the TV on the ceiling while I get my work done on my teeth. I appreciate all their efforts and, of course, the great care they have given me.

I broke a tooth last weekend and needed immediate care. Dr. Cheng was able to see me on Monday for an assessment and was able to fix my problem with an extended appointment soon after. I was grateful to get this tooth fixed so quickly and thrilled with the care I was given and the results. Thank you Dr. Cheng. I was also there for my regular teeth cleaning and the dental hygienist was great. I was in the middle of my tooth repair and they kept things light and funny knowing that I was there for the long haul. I highly recommend College Street Dental and will share this with my friends on Facebook.

I was recommended to College Street Dental by a friend of mine. She had commented about how great the place was. After 2 years of being a patient there, I would agree. I was totally blown away by how much time the dentist spent discussing my options, taking photographs and most importantly, listening to my concerns. They have always provided a comfortable dental experience through the years I’ve been there and provide top-​notch work. The office is clean, has state of the art technology, and have very helpful and caring assistants. They are also very good at explaining any charges, estimates, etc and always call to remind me of my next appointments. Thanks to everyone at College Street Dental!

I was very impressed by College Street Dental. My boyfriend recommended this dental office to me last spring when he thought why don’t we try an office located in downtown Toronto. (We actually live within the same block). It had been several years since I had a full check-​up which I’ve put off from my previous dentist. The staff were very friendly and interested in my dental background/​history. They went out of their way to make me feel less nervous, explained completely my options and how to improve my hygiene over time. I also had some more necessary work done at College Street Dental and they did a nice job. All-​in-​all, an excellent experience for me.

I’ve had 3 good experiences here for teeth cleaning, checkup, and a filling so far.
Staff have been friendly and attentive, and there has never been too long of a wait. The place is pretty and clean, and has TVs on the ceiling to distract you while they clean (though sometimes the channel is annoying.)
They call you when your are due for your next check-​in in a couple of months.
If you are a local university student, they give major discounts that vary by school so check online for what you are eligible for before going.

This is disgusting. You made another one to trick more people with your abusive psychopathic dentists. Their original account is called CARLTON DENTAL right now when it was College Dental before. Check it out if you want the real reviews. The reviewers of Carlton Dental include College Street Dental on their reviews. I didn’t expect Unilocal to support this kind of blatant abuse of their website and rating system.
Here’s what I went through at College Street Dental:
–My right jaw hurts a lot and my doctor told me to check to a dentist because he/​she probably knows better about dental disease
–Made an appointment for a check-​up. Came a bit late because my class ended 15 minutes longer that day. The nurse picked me up and brought me to the chair.
–I told her what my other doctor told me. She did a 10 seconds check and found nothing wrong. Then, proceed to drill my teeth. I asked her why was she drilling my teeth on the same position as my painful jaw and I pointed it to her that I only want a check-​up. She said, «Well, the schedule says it’s cleaning.» I felt weird when she said that, like is she deaf or something. I specifically told her that my jaw hurts. I could taste blood on my mouth and she said that my gum seems to be a BIT sensitive. Of course it’s sensitive, my JAW is in PAIN.
–I told her that I didn’t want the cleaning because my jaw is in pain. She said, «Well, we might have to freeze you.» I asked her what that was and she answered, «Oh you know, shots. Probably a couple shots to numb you.» I panicked after that and just kept repeating that I didn’t want it.
–She called a female dentist not long after that. The dentist ignored my explanation of my jaw and just called me childish for not wanting the shots. She just went on and on with her bully and verbal abuse. She tried so hard to convince me by saying that she would just clean half of my teeth while at the same time, verbally bullying me. The nurse just sat there, ignoring me. I have no experience with such DISGUSTING ABUSE and just sat there, silently CRYING because of the pain and hope that the nurse finished whatever she was doing to my teeth faster. Obviously, the nurse knew that I was crying because she said, «Hold on, I’ll be done soon.» After that, she just gave me a free tooth brush and I went home with both my jaw in pain.
–Before this horrible abuse, I had 2 wisdom teeth taken care of. When a male dentist tried to sew my gum, he accidentally sew the gum to my cheek. I can still feel the scar with my tongue.
–Please, please and please avoid this place. They don’t care whether they abuse you or not. For them, you are nothing but a bag of money. This place gave me nightmares from the abuse that I had to go through. Whenever I passed by any dentist place, I get a nervous breakdown and cry for no reason.
–Whether it’s teeth or hair, NO ONE can FORCE you to do what THEY want if you don’t want it. That’s no different from rape. STAY AWAY from this place.

Just got a couple of my wisdom teeth pulled out! I have had 3 visits to College Street Dental since a long gap between regular visits to a dentist. As someone with quite a bit of anxiety in every social situation, a visit to the dentist is among the worst things in LIFE. (#firstworldproblems) So after defeating much of my other issues, it was time to tackle oral health and such. I decided to switch to a new, more convieniently located dentist and begin regular visits again. I’m not a U of T student, but I work and live really close so I gave this place a try.
I expected it to be awful, and I expected to be quite ashamed of myself. First visit wasn’t all that bad! Only a few cavities! Second and third visit, I had Dr. Stephanie Chan, and I gotta say, she’s great! Didn’t make me feel like a loser at all. Which I usually always do! Everything was quick and painless! (Except for my wallet, because I am not insured or whatever. Don’t worry, I have a job… and my mommy.)
I didn’t write this review on the laughing gas; she didn’t use it! Too bad, I think it would have been fun to experience the kind of high that makes me cry about wanting to bang Ryan Gosling. By the way, posting this review also gives me anxiety.
