Crema Coffee Co.

I walked into Crema Coffee Co with excitement after reading all the great reviews!
It completely took me by surprise that it was not just a coffee shop but paired with Freshii — eat in or take out food. That lent to me standing at the wrong ordering desk.
The coffee was wonderful! Great crema, full bodied by Intelligentsia. What a great treat!
They also carry the KeepCups from Australia. They are barista standard sized reusable cups. I own one and highly recommend them.

I think this coffee is terrible! Is it just me though? Cause this place is lauded as some of the best in TO??? I find it too burnt, bitter, and dark.
After a bit of research on Crema’s site, I find they recommend Intelligentsia in Chicago. Which I also hated. So if you like that coffee, you’ll love Crema’s. if you are like me, go to Sam James.
BUT Crema did have an amazing gluten free cookie!

What a great cup of coffee! Their Americano Misto is smooth and rich, and if you’re feeling fancy, they also make leaf designs with the milk. Also, any coffee place that offers simple syrup at their milk/​sugar station is a win in my book. I haven’t had any of their baked goods yet, but I did notice that they have a gluten free option that is kept in a separate container.
I’m not overly crazy about the set up of this location since it’s attached to a Freshii. The space is frequently busy, so it’s awkward to move around. Crema feels like it’s pushed into the corner, and because of the Freshii traffic, you can’t always tell where the lineup starts or ends. This is definitely a grab and go location.
That being said, make sure you stop in if you need a boost!

These are the things I know about Crema on Spadina —
1. They have good coffee
2. They have very dry cookies/​muffins
3. The staff are cool
4. MOST importantly they have a tip jar set up that always has amazingly funny things listed on it. Example: Tips — Saving money for Creed Live.
I laugh out loud about that one once a week… seriously. Creed Live. Well done folks.
Worth it for a daily visit to see what the tip jar says.

What can I say? It’s great. This location, though it is the newest and tiniest, takes it’s coffee as seriously as it’s older and bigger siblings.
You can’ t go wrong with Crema!

Amidst dozens of other coffee shops, tucked into the corner of a Freshii, another Crema rises!
Having been a big fan of the location in the Junction, I figured this was worth the shot as well.
Now the major difference with this one from the Junction location is well, it’s tiny! Everytime I went there it’s been a single person working the shop, which consists of a corner inside the Freshii. Don’t plan to come here for the atmosphere is all I’m saying :)
In this fast-​paced part of town, it’s the coffee that’s going to matter most, and it’s delicious as you would expect from Crema. Full bodied americanos and well balanced cappuccinos will make you happy.
It may be just my luck, but I found the service very dedicated to creating a good cup. The barista delicately would prepare my cup, with near surgical precision. If you’re in a rush, this may be annoying, but I’m a fan.
–1 Star because although I’m a fan of the coffee, I would have loved a larger location to sit down in.
