This is a dangerous place for me. We came in because I was hoping for a nice cardigan to buy since I was cold. Instead, we found some really really great local t-shirts(local as in Toronto/Canada themed) and an insane variety of great gifts for people. I bought a picnic blanket and wore that as a shawl all day, and my friend got all sorts of neat gifts for a bunch of birthdays she has coming up. When we left, I instantly regretted not loading up on gifts for birthdays I have coming up in the next few months. The lady working there was super fun and nice, and she did a great job helping us pick gifts for Betsy and the picnic blanket(on sale!) for me. I will definitely be back. My poor wallet.

I love this store I recently went to the pop up shop at the Hudson’s Bay. They sell the most original and crazy T. O souvenirs I’ve seen so far. The store sells items for everyone from oncies to bacon toothpaste. I’ve purchased a few Christmas gifts here and I’m sure they are going to be hit. The only thing that I don’t like so much is that most of their things are on the pricey side… But is worth it? If you consider that you are supporting Toronto’s talent.

Awesome store with friendly staff! The Drake General Stores always have a cool and eclectic bunch of goods with a retro flair. They also carry lots of stuff from local artists/designers, which is an added bonus. My favourite items tend to be their Canadiana stuff, especially their Shared History onesies!

This one smells the best of all the Drake Hotel General Stores. I mean, this isn’t a scientific survey or anything, but as soon as I walked in I was hit with this warm woodsy-cinnamony scent and I felt like I was in some kind of Christmas-gift funhouse: «Ooh! I could buy this retro-ironic boy scout manual for my cousin! And this ginger syrup for my sister! And this clever little can opener for my dad and this herb planter for my mom, and… and…» And then I remembered that my family doesn’t even celebrate Christmas and I can’t use them as an excuse to buy all the stuff I want for myself. Bummer. It’s still a cool store, though.
