Awful place. Average facilities and very pushy annoying staff. I was called after 10pm on two different nights by someone trying to schedule and push personal training passes on me. So many people I know are fans of good life and I wish I could be as it is so convenient, but I have had nothing but terrible experiences here. They refused to cancel my membership when I asked. Do not recommend.

Always busy. Three squat racks servicing an entire neighborhood block at Yonge/​Eg means you are never able to get a proper workout in, since all racks and equipment are in use. If they got more racks, it would be a ¹⁰⁄₁₀ gym. I am always disappointed after I go there, purely based on how busy it is.

It’s tied for my favorite location with the Davisville site.
Everyone is polite and pleasant but leaves me alone (which is how I like it at the gym). Bright and clean with lots of classes. There are always lots of cardio machines available (with personal TVs), and several floors of weight machines, so its rare that I ever have to wait for a machine.
Some of the classes are fantastic (mostly the cardio ones).
I highly recommend!

This location is great — the hours are really flexible, there is lots of equipment and room to work out, definietely a WIN for a gym. Oh ya — there are also squash courts. :)
The staff are really friendly and seem like they actually like their job UNLIKE the Delisle location. I travel the extra 10 – 15 minutes just so I do not have to deal with the rude, unprofessional and annoying staff at the Delisle location (would not recomend that gym).
Would definitely recommend the Dunfield club!

DO NOT LEAVE ANY PERSONAL BELONGINGS OUT, they will disappear. I had a toiletry bag swiped while I was right there in the shower room. When I approached the front desk regarding this the response I got was as follows: «What do you want me to tell you». That is the kind of service you will get from the staff there. Otherwise, gym is slow paced, older crowed but some good classes and no wait on machines.

Extreme Fitness has been bought out by GoodLife Fitness.
I went to a Spin class today and it was taught by Beth Richie, who is an AMAZING teacher and is a personal trainer as well. If not for her, I would not go to Spin at all. The club itself is well-​maintained. The front desk staff are chipper and eager to help. I recommend going here for Spin and apparently, Beth teaches also a core muscles class on Monday’s at 9:30 AM – as she is incredibly fit, I can bet it is also a wonderful class to take.

Now owned by Extreme Fitness and not the best Extreme Fitness there is. There are tons of thread mills soI almost never had to wait.
But this is a depressing location. Well, kinda depressing. It’s dark and the lighting is poor.
For some reason, I don’t feel as motivated working out here. The locker room is HUGE though which is nice during busy hours. It’s awkward rubbing elbows with half naked men.
The layout is similar to a labyrinth — it’s awfully confusing. Seems like the space is designed for an office, not a gym. There are three levels with multiple «sections.»
Bikes and thread mills are on the second floor as well as the circuit training equipment. Most look old.
There are squash courts though which is a hit for many.
I come here only if I’m at Yonge and Eglinton area. Otherwise, I try to avoid it.

I like this location better than Sheppard. Its a lot brighter and although the equipment is not as new and trendy it does the job. I like the layout and I don’t mind climbing stairs (since you are there to workout~). Four stories and ultimately what I enjoy the most are the amenities in comparison to the Sheppard location. Dunfield provides shaving cream, hair gel, lotion and they got rain forest shower heads.
Seriously can’t complain about this location (geographically, equipment wise, volume of people is just right), except the small size towels~

My biggest complaint about this location is very embarrassing to admit, so I’m going to pretend like it’s a safety hazard instead of pure and simple laziness. WHY so many stairs between levels in this club?! When my legs have practically turned to jelly after workout brutality, is it really safe to be woozily climbing the several thousand stairs cruelly installed in this multi-​level torture chamber?
I kid, I kid. Thanks for keeping my workouts honest, Extreme.
I’m happy with my membership. I love the large expanse of windows and the natural light. There is more than enough equipment to go around, but they need a few more than one squat rack. NOTE to Confused Management: Squat racks, NOT Smith Machines.
I have not tried out the classes here yet but they seem to offer quite a lot of variety, which is good. I’ll get to that when I need a change from my independent training. Bathrooms are clean and there are lockers a-​plenty. TVs in the treadmills and cardio machines make time pass a little bit faster.

Dunfield Club also known as Extreme fitness around Yonge and Eglinton. I had a horrible experience of really pushy sales staff trying to do or say whatever they can to get one to sign up. They kept calling and calling it was crazy. There’s also not enough yoga classes. Take my word cross the street and go to Yorkville club uptown, much better. Lots of classes, friendly staff.

This gym is very conveniently located to where I live. Beyond that, it is just ok. It is big and has a lot of equipment, but it is spread over 5 floors which can sometimes get annoying. It can get very busy, dumbbells are normally scattered around and not in order, and the equipment is sometimes not as well maintained as it should. (Example: One of the exercise bikes was missing a pedal for a couple of weeks, but there was not even an out-​of-​order sign on it.) They do have a nice cardio area with TVs on a lot of the machines. They also have a hot tub in the locker room, which is nice, although it is sometimes out of order (there is a sauna as well). They have a lot of classes but I have not tried them so cannot comment.
The people there… well I guess this is like any gym, but there are a lot of rude people there. There are people who smell bad, people having loud conversations on their cell phones, people who leave their weights on the machines or on the floor, people who leave their sweat on the machines, guys who stare at all the girls, guys who walk like gorillas with their arms stuck out to the sides. .. you get the idea.
Having said all that, it is not a terrible place to go and get your workout done efficiently. I personally think that location is the most important factor in choosing a gym, because it is hard to motivate yourself to go if it becomes a big trip.

. Today I decided to try out the Extreme location on Eglinton, formely the Dunfield Club. Bottom line — I loved it. Great equipment and tons of it. Layout was ok for me even with the 5 floors… people seemed very nice and the shower area was clean and clutter free. Honestly — With the exception of the Thornhill location — Extreme does a really good job of providing value for your money.

The class schedule here is awesome, and the five floor facility itself is incredible. After joining the Delisle Club (affiliate down the road at St. Clair) I was already happy, but really, having access to this club made my Extreme Fitness membership more than a good deal. If this club maintains its standard of cleanliness, modern equipment, and variety and quality of classes, I don’t think I will ever stop being a member.

The squash pro, Bryan Chin, is encouraging, inspiring, and a true professional. He very subtly is a court matchmaker, as well, and I’d believe many a business deal have been struck up thanks to his suggestions for squash partners.
The squash program there is robust, but not intimidating. It’s easy to get involved– quickly– with the many leagues, tourneys and clinics.
I think Extreme Fitness gets a bad rap, but this gym is super clean, 5 floors, with upbeat instructors and a jam-​packed, dynamic class schedule. Fit2Ski, box classes, jump rope and power yoga are some of the best– plus, they are scheduled for real professionals. And the crowd is good.
I don’t know why the hell anyone would join Yorkville across the street. I had a free trial there, and their best pitch was their concierge service– would I REALLY ask someone to pick up my dry cleaning for me? No way!
