History
Established in 1945.
Our story begins in September of 1945 on Toronto’s Danforth Avenue. Sixteen year-old Gordon Edwards was searching for a shop on the Danforth to advertise his radio repair services. Kindly, watch repair shop owner, Llewellynn Davies, invited him in to advertise in his shop. Together they built a partnership that would last for 60 years and a passion for jewellery and customer service that has continued since 1945.
We are very proud to be family owned and operated and stay loyal to our customers and neighbourhood. Following in Gordon’s footsteps, his son, also named Gordon, took over the store in 1990 with his son, Adam, following suit. The original contract and store-front signage can still be found hanging on the wall of our store today.
Meet the Business Owner
Adam O.
Business Owner
Currently Gord and Adam are together running Edwards and Davies. Since I (Adam) am writing this information and my Dad, Gord, isn’t on the computer too much, I will talk about myself!
I started coming to work on Saturdays with my dad when I was about 10. For a young boy, this was an exciting place to be. There was always something new going on. I liked to listen to my dad interact with customers, many who were repeat customers and would indulge a 10 year old in funny stories and inspirational messages for the future. It wasn’t much later that I knew I had a passion for jewellery and the retail environment.
After completing my Graduate Gemologist at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), I was ready for any challenge!
Today my passions have only grown. I love what I do and love the element of creativity involved with each piece of jewellery.
