Experts Tailoring and Alterations

I took a pair of pants to change the elastic band on the waist. Since I am not the expert I mentioned that the actual waist line was 34 and asked the tailor (looked like the owner) for a suggestion of how much to change it to. He suggested put a New Elastic at 32 inches for the waist line. One week later when I picked up the pants, even though the elastic measured 32, it appeared stretched out and was still loose on a 34 inch waist. I was charged $ 18 for this untidy stitch job. On discussing this with the owner — he just got so rude and defensive saying its not his fault and that if I need a new elastic, he will charge me another $ 8 and walks back inside his alteration room. Wait a second — NEW Elastic !!! that means he just shortened the old stretched out elastic band and charged me for that. Now he wants to charge extra for an actual NEW elastic. What a rip off — why would I pay $ 26 for changing an elastic band which was done wrongly by the tailor himself ! Cant believe what kind of CHEATS operate in this town centre. EEEkksss, Me never going back to such poor customer service. Stay AWAY !!!
