Formocha revamped their store and re-opened again featuring the famous Taiwanese Wheel Cakes. The interesting thing is the flavour — Bubble tea. The filling is Milk tea with pearls inside. I didn’t particularly like it because it wasn’t sweet enough for me and just tasted burnt. The pearls were way too soggy and not chewy. Interesting flavour but just didn’t taste as good as I thought. I also had the Lychee Sparkling Calpico 50% sugar. It’s soooo good! Highly recommend their drinks as they were previously famous for them. 50% was still a bit too sweet for me though!

The traffic on eglinton getting there from dt is such a mess. The roads are horrifying. When I got there, it was quite empty which was a relief. The girl was polite and I got the formocha milk tea, 50% sugar and less ice. This is similar to what I get a chatime and the bbt was very tea-y which is usually a good thing but I didn’t add enough sugar so it was very strong. The only reason I give it 3⁄5 is being there’s hardly any parking in site, the roads were full of potholes, the condo construction causes traffic, and I didn’t put enough sugar in the drink. It’s a solid bbt place but I don’t think it’s enough to have me addicted.

Bubble tea is my Starbucks latte. It’s what I’d like to have every day, if my pocket allows me to. and there has been moments when I had two in one day. That said, I like bubble tea, but not particularly a good critique when it comes to it. Basically all bubble tea is good to me. This location is my go to after work, because it’s the closest bubble tea location to me. I’ve gotten drinks from them more than a few times. I have a stamp card, now anticipating for my free bubble tea. I’m giving this place a five star because of all the times I go to here, the staff has been super friendly, their tiny shop is clean and they have free WiFi. They also have some desserts available, but last time I stopped by, they didn’t have any out. I’m not sure if they stopped or it was too early… As they didn’t even have the tapiocas ready when I came in that one time. Their seating is about 5 tiny tables for 2 people, each. If you’re in a group, you can put it together. It’s a really, really small shop. If you want bubble here in Yonge and Eglinton, this is the place to go. There’s construction about the time I’m doing this review and you will not see the shop because the street sidewalk is closed off on this corner. I really hope this doesn’t cause them to shut down.

Update: The last couple of times I’ve been here — they have this new girl working there with stink-face. Service is much slower with her and she does not communicate well on payment, loyalty card information and just bad customer service manner.(best not to go in the morning or later in the afternoon) Returning here more often these days. Their formocha tea is the most recommended; the matcha red bean and honeydew smoothies are delicious as well. Their service is much quicker than Cha-time which I appreciate. The loyalty program is also easy to follow along and not very hidden like Cha-time with their card and receipts that don’t show how close you are to the reward. Highly recommended

I have grown up consuming massive amounts of bubble tea, so I consider myself a bit of a milk tea snob. I’m terribly picky with my drinks, and most locations just don’t cut it for me. Formocha is a cute establishment with satisfactory drinks; lots of places in Toronto pale in comparison to this store! I wish I could give 3.5 stars actually, but 4 stars is alright as well. The store has a couple of posters with their animal mascots on them, presumably advertising something? They had lots of red tables placed around with nary a customer; however, bear in mind it was a Wednesday afternoon and lunch time had already passed. There was also a(well-drawn) chalkboard picture of the minions placed beside their lengthy menu on the wall. Pretty cakes and milk tea toppings were displayed proudly in clear boxes so that we could physically see the options for the bubble tea. We ordered oolong milk tea and rose milk tea, and we were able to customize the drink as we desired. You could adjust the size, amount of ice, sweetness level, and the toppings. The servers were painstakingly slow at crafting the drinks and did not offer the points card until I requested for one. Fortunately, the drinks were delicious enough to mollify my dismay at their rather cold customer service. The taste of tea was distinct and cut through the rather sweet beverage; it was not too creamy and the drink was rather light compared to most milk teas. I asked for half-sweet, which was perfect for me. The other drink was ordered with full-sweetness, and although it was still delicious, I could not stomach the sugary milk tea. It’s probably still a good option if you have a sweet tooth though! I would definitely make a special trip back here to sample their other drink selections; most milk tea stores in downtown aren’t as yummy or authentic as Formocha.

Cute place that lets you customize your bubble tea drink with different sugar levels and so on. Service was a little slow but it was pretty popular.

I prefer formocha over chatime. For some reason their bubble tea just seems to taste better. Or maybe I’m just sick of chatime. I ordered a oolong milk tea and it was so good. I love that they have mini tapioca! I usually mix the two and it’s great with my drink. I also like how it’s near Yonge and Eg where the bubble tea craze hasn’t hit yet. It’s also a good sized place to sit and do some work during the day.

I got the passionfruit green tea this time(normal sugar, less ice once again) and I enjoyed it much more than the lychee tea the first time I came here. The passionfruit was much sweeter and had less of the tea taste, so it kind of tasted like what you get at Chatime without the massive lines. The service was pretty quick once again.

Anyone who is in the area often knows that there is not a day that is not filled with construction workers and traffic. So my friends and i decide to go & get something to drink so that it could accompany us on the long bus ride back home. The cravings for bubble tea are real & can not be ignored so i was so excited when my friends and i saw this place. We are warmly greeted and i automatically feel like a regular customer who comes here often. I order my favourite regular taro bubble tea slush with tapioca, not bothering with extra sugar or ice options. It was made fairly quickly and very delicious. Some places that i go to for bubble tea either make it too sweet or not sweet enough but this bubble tea was equally levelled. The friendly setting added towards the good tasting bubble tea. Its nice how there is a little siting area for people to enjoy their drinks and food. Cant wait to go get some bubble tea again!

Ordered a half-sugar half-ice oolong milk tea with tapioca. They controlled the sugar level pretty well, but the tea itself tasted kind of bland. Tapioca was chewy! They also have a stamp card that gives you perks when you buy enough bbt from them.

For what it is, it does well. Very simple establishment, nothing fancy. But the products are solid and the customer service was friendly and quick. I’m not the biggest bubble tea fan so please take this review with a grain of salt, but I tried my friends and it was very slushy like. My Americano was pretty good a little expensive for one shot and it was a little weak tasting so when I go back id recommend getting a double! Good for grab and go.

Got an oolong bubble tea with tapioca; it was a little stronger in taste compared to the same bubble tea from Chatime but it was still very good. They gave me so much tapioca; I was so full. It seemed like a nice place to sit down and chat with a friend. There were lots of small tables that could fit a couple of people. Service was quick and friendly.

Love formocha ~ Have stopping by here quite a few times to chat with friends, study or just enjoy a nice cup of tea! My most frequent order is the rose milk tea! One of the newer flavor I think. it Tate’s like what rose purfume might smell like a little. i know it sounds wired but it’s very tasty!

We normally go to the movies and end up here afterwards for a vent/critique session. It’s a bit tight in terms of seating but they have a modest dessert menu with lots of combinations for drinks and bubble tea. Echoing some earlier sentiment, snacks here are dreadfully overpriced, but the drinks and quick service more than make up for that, Hot/cold whatever your fancy I’m sure you’ll find something you like here. If you want high end sweets go to Demetres further east from here its about the same but with more options Recommendations: –Bubble Milk Tea –Macha Cheesecake

My friend and I want to sit down and chat at some café. We were around Yonge and Eglinton and I had passed by Formacha a couple of times, so I was like; why not here? The place was empty except for one other couple sitting. I don’t care too much with how people there are sitting as we wanted somewhere quiet to sit down anyways and enjoy some bubble tea. Plus, I’d imagine bubble tea customers are more of ‘buy what you want, and get out’ type. Formacha works like Chatime in regards to allowing you choose your sugar and ice levels. I ordered Black Milk tea because I’m safe like that, with normal sugar and no ice. All in all, my bubble tea was great(it’s kind of hard to mess up bubble tea, I think), and my friend and I enjoyed each other’s company whilst listening to Maroon 5 playing in the background(I think they were playing an album or something). They are also opening up a new location near Yonge and Finch, so if you live near there, be prepared for Formacha(:

This place had been in the area for a few years but I only found out about it last year. I must say i was really impressed with their selection, they are up to par with most other Bubble Tea joints. They give you options on the levels of sugar + they have a section of assorted snacks and desserts. I got my drink right away and for the area its in, it isn’t packed at all. I’ve gone at every possible time of day and never found it too be crowded. For $ 4.25−4.75 it really makes you want to try their entire menu. This place is definitely going to be more

This place is soo cute and small and just inviting. My sister and I walked in and were quickly greeted by two ladies. We took a second to look at the bubble tea menu. So many options to choice from. They even have ice, less ice and no ice. & Sugar, less sugar, half sugar and no sugar. Like I said, soo many options. They even have dessert cake! Who doesn’t like dessert cakes? I do! Definitely a place I shall visit more often.

After this whole chatime craze has started, I was eager to try my neighbourhood bubble tea joint. I was happy to know that they have my favourite grass jelly(herbal jelly) topping in addition to many other toppings. I don’t really think this place is overpriced, since it is quite comparable similar«gourmet» bubble tea places and seems like the ingredients they use are of high quality and have less artificial flavours. I do find the place a bit small but nevertheless, a great place to just grab & go and the staff are super friendly!

Finally a decent bubble tea place by Yonge and Eglinton! Formocha is a Taiwanese run tea/dessert shop that actually sells bubble tea that makes me feel like I’m back in my home country! My rule of thumb to rate any bubble tea shop is to try out their Original Milk Bubble Tea. I ordered a regular sized one at Formocha which only came out to be $ 4.75 after tax. The lady behind the counter whipped this up so fast, it was ready before I can even put the change back in my wallet. The milk tea has just the right amount of creaminess to it, and no sign of any powder. The tapioca was PERFECTLY chewy — so hard for other places to not over or under cook them. Overall this place is comparable to Chatime, but less busy therefore much better service! I will be back to try out more flavors and maybe one of those tempting cakes behind the counter.

New bubble tea shop in the Yonge and Eglinton neighborhood. A warm welcome goes out to you! It’s about time! Came here a few times recently and I like the vibe of this place. It’s clean, bright, and modern. It was a hot day so their air conditioning made it a super nice place to chill out at with free wifi to surf the net. I tried their taro milk tea with tapioca and their Formocha milk tea with mini tapioca, both of which were good.(Formocha milk tea is simply made with vanilla sugar as opposed to brown sugar) Besides bubble teas, they also serve small cakelets(super caramel crunch, mango mousse cake), almond croissant, mini cream puff, and other little delicacies. They have an afternoon tea special which I think is $ 6.99 for drink and dessert. What a deal! So next time you are craving bubble tea in the Yonge and Eglinton area, you don’t have to head north, south or east anymore. This place has you covered.
