Frock

Stay away from this store– they will tell you whatever you want to hear as you put down your credit card but when you realize-(my example)-that it’s the wrong size and they don’t have yours– ten minutes after purchase – everything untouched and still packaged! NOTHING will get you your money back. I lost over a hundred dollars this way and I will never go near them again. Rebecca M.

I really enjoyed shopping in this store initially. But after I
Saw the amount of fur they were selling last winter, I stopped going. There was fur absolutely everywhere.
That really put me off. I wish that such a store would be cruelty-​free. Itwould make
the shopping experience more pleasant.
They periodically do have sale on sale items in the basement. Make sure
you get the discount though– somehow the girls at the cash register always mysteriously miss that-​review your receipts!
I also wish they had a better return policy. There are no refunds, only exchanges.
I did like their unique items, but refuse to go unless they say NO to cruelty to animals.

Going through the racks — you need time to do this, and it overwhelmed me. What I did like was that it had Matt and Nat bags (vegan leather), as well as other buttery soft leather totes and bags. It seemed like a fun place to browse if you have a leisurely afternoon off to look through clothes.

I love looking around at Frock! It’s a little crammed in there, but it’s chock full of girly delights from jewellery, to stationary, to hats and handbags. They currently have a special showing of vintage special occasion dresses in the basement — just in time for formal season! This is the perfect place for unique (albeit, somewhat pricey) gifts.

I’ll say it now, I’m a vintage and handmade jewellery fiend. I mean it.
Of the many times I’ve gone hunting for jewellery Toronto hasn’t done much to satisfy my niffler-​like cravings for such glittery items. I usually end up on Etsy or succumb to an out-​of-​town dig (
).
Of the few times I’ve tested out Frock’s supply, they’ve delivered. Service is decent and their store isn’t a monstrosity.

I cannot pass this store without popping in. A charming little clothing, etc shop, with a trendy and unique flair!

Frock is a nice pretty store to browse around.
The items they carries are quite unique especially for a person like me that usually frequent boring suburbia malls who does not have any personality!
Prices wise is for value/​bargain oriented shoppers… but it does not cost anything to browse?!
Loves their handbags, wallets and winter accessories. (a warm hat is perfect for this freezing winter afternoon!)

I love browsing this store — they always have interesting hand-​made jewelery, cute change purses, wallets and bags, and pretty dresses/​skirts/​sweaters. The inventory is always changing, and they constantly bring in new items. Right now they have cute kitchen accessories, like aprons and tea towels. I find the racks of clothes a bit difficult to shop — not much pulled out on display, so I definitely think of it as more of an accessories store than clothing boutique, but definitely a cute spot.

I must be wearing a sign on my back that says «Give me shit service or better yet ignore me please»! I have been wanting to check this place out for ages and decided on a whim to walk along Roncesvalles in order to check it out.
I saw the window display and immediately got excited… STUFF! Oh how I love pretty STUFF! There were two associates in the store and two customers including me. Time to bust out the charm ladies and earn your minimum wage… No? You’d rather just continue your inappropriate, private conversation behind the cash instead? Ok. That’s fair I guess. Since the service is lacklustre I assume things are reasonably priced here right? No? $ 60 for a headband?
Listen… if I am pay big $$$ I expect impeccable service. I think it’s a fair trade off. especially since I would think the area has been hit hard with both a recession and shit loads of construction. Next time smarten up or else Frock Off!

I love that Frock is located so close to my home because it’s only a short stroll away and I’m suddenly transported into a wonderful boutique crammed to the gills with Stuff I Like™.
Frock was the first place in Toronto (as far as I know, anyway) to sell Matt & Nat bags and purses. Back in the day (ie 2005) it was suuuuper impossible to find Matt & Nat in the city but Frock delivered the goods. I’ve purchased many a wallet at this store. They also stock really cool and quirky accessories, jewellery, shoes and outerwear. The displays and layout of the store are really charming and well thought out, and the owner is incredibly nice and friendly! A winning shopping experience for someone who secretly (OK, not so secretly) doesn’t like to shop!

I feel pret-​ty! Oh so pret-​ty! That’s the song I feel like singing once I’m inside Frock. Everything is so elegant and pretty, some so much so that I dare not touch for fear of grubbing things up.
Right now I especially love their matching glove/​scarf combo, which are delicately trimmed, in frosting fifties pastels. I also really love their shoes, which are mostly mary jane style with low thick practical heels (but still sexy!)
Oh, and there’s a salon called Frock-​Head in the basement. So you can get a cut and if it turns out bad, you can buy a cute hat to cover it with.
