Totally uninteresting place if you don’t have a dog or want to hang out with dog owners; basically just a small parkette between Gerrard, Carlaw, the tracks and an auto mechanic. That said, if you do have a dog, this place fits the bill and you won’t have to push past playgrounds full of kids or people playing soccer and baseball to let your dog run around.

I really like this park. It’s totally enclosed, so I have peace of mind when let the girls run free here. However, it’s not their favourite place. It can be muddy in the winter/spring. Because they are often the smallest dogs in the park, they get a bit uncomfortable, but overall it’s pretty nice, and they do settle down after some time.

I think this is the best dog park in the Riverdale/Leslieville area. Winthrow tends to be consistently busier(i.e., more of a guarantee that there will be dogs to play with), but it’s not fenced in so it can be kind of anarchaic over there. The ground is covered with wood chips so the dogs don’t get too dirty and it’s pretty well shaded in the summer when it’s hot(although a big tree recently had to be taken down). The best part about it is that the owners that go there are all serious dog people, but are not too uptight. Sometimes at other places if a dog is playing an owner loses his/her mind thinking it’s a fight. That’s not the case with the owners here. If you’re going on the weekend try to make it before noon if you want to make sure there will be lots of dogs.

this place is new in the neighbourhood and it specifically geared towards the canine commander. anyone from the area can bring their dog here for a good free-flowing run in a spot that has a long distance from east to west and a fair depth going in southward from gerrard street. this otherwise useless and abandoned piece of land serves well for its structured purpose with entrances both at carlaw and at the parks first appearance along gerrard as youre going eastward. there are a couple benches around the perimeters of this fenced in area for owners and dog lovers to congregate.
