Decent food in a sketchy bar Good Vibes occupies a rather beat down looking bar pinned in an area that isn’t the prettiest of sights. Without the open sign on the outside and the ugly green sign outside the building, I would have thought the place was abandoned. Despite all this, I would have to say the interior isn’t bad at all. The décor looks like something out of Goodfellas, but looks much better inside than outside(which come on, it couldn’t be worse…) Menu is bar food with some hint of Carribbean ownership?(Name and couple menu items lead me to this opinion). The prices are real good too considering the overpriced options we get all around the area anyways. Some coworkers and I showed up on a Wednesday which was perfect because they had half price wings all day. Decision for lunch was made. The hot wings weren’t bad at all. i guess expectations were set pretty low, but they were far exceeded. The batter was crisp and the sauce wasn’t overwhelming. Plus, you get a basket of fries and a side of blue cheese to go with the wings as well. All for $ 6.99! The value is what really got the good rating for me. They have a variety of beers on tap and the menu had other interesting items like the Carribbean Jerk chicken and such. Not sure if I want to give it a try, but who knows. Despite how crappy the place looks outside, I’d have to say it was definitely a nice stop for lunch, especially in this area. All these places by the airport are littered with overpriced chain restaurants that don’t offer any sort of special outside of more overpriced lunches. Good Vibes also has a stellar number of TVs scattered around the place so it seems like it could be a nice place to catch a game. Though this place wasn’t spectacular by any means, it’s solid enough to be A-OK in my book.
