Knives, Knives, Knives. I’ve been itching to get a new chef knife and so I shopped around Toronto at different knife stores but that all ended Hacher & Krain. Greg, the owner of the store is a wealth of knowledge of knives and has no problems sharing that knowledge to inform his potential customers on what they’re investing into. He’s got a stunning array of knives from many different countries. Greg provided me the necessary information I needed and really turned my perspective on what it was I should be looking for in a knife. And he also helped me move past the hype of big branded knife makers. I purchased a Sabatier knife and love using it. I’ll definitely be coming back as I expand my knife collection.

I don’t think you can find a more knowledgeable, professional, friendly man than Greg. He takes his business seriously and makes sure that he pairs you with the right tools you are looking for. Outside of his extensive variety knives, cutting boards, and other tools, Greg has a vast knowledge of the history and construction of each knife and will sit down with you to explain what you are buying and what you would use it for. He makes sure he matches you to the right tool. I have been frequenting Hacher & Krain for over a year now and the store never disappoints. I have only Greg to thank for all of my great new tools(including a beautiful walnut cutting board) and I always look forward to coming back to buy something new or recommending all my family and friends to visit Greg to experience the best customer service one can ask for! A must for any culinary aficionado(or anyone looking for broadening their kitchen horizons)!

Finally stopped in after walking by for months and I’m in awe. Greg, the owner of the store is a remarkable source of knife knowledge, and the knives he has there are stunningly beautiful tools. Something completely different from what you find in the way of kitchen knives anywhere else… I can tell I’m going to have a problem with this store.
