Haute Classics

At first, I was a little put off by some of the reviews I had read about this store (mainly about the customer service), but took it with a grain of salt and had purchased a beautiful designer bag from their website. It was one of the smoothest transactions I had to date with fast shipping and great packaging. The bag was in excellent condition and was an affordable price for such a luxury brand. Thank you, Haute Classics!

I’ve bought designer suits and tops (Diane Von Furstenberg, Miu Miu) at this place for a fraction of what I would have paid if I had bought them new. I’ve never done shoes, though. The thought of wearing previously worn shoes is a tad gross. Some of the brands they carry (for example, Theory) can also be found at Winners in new condition.
I once tried to sell something on consignment. There was one other shopper in the store, but the attendant told me I had to make an appointment and come back later. I never went back.

Been coming here for a few years now. This review is based on the sum of those experiences.
Collection: Bags — very good (many Chanels, also Miu Miu, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Chloe, Balenciaga, etc.) Shoes — pretty good. Accessories — pretty good (incl. Hermes scarves). Clothes — meh. The condition of the pieces is quite good.
Store: Clean and bright. Well organized. 3 or 4 fitting rooms. Large sofa/​bench to sit on while trying on shoes or waiting for shopping companions.
Prices: Reasonable for the quality.
Staff: The owners are generally pleasant to interact with. Otherwise, the majority of the staff often seem indifferent… i.e., more interested in discussing their social lives rather than helping customers (unless you’re a friend/​VIP). I was downright shocked, however, on my most recent visit during which I had the displeasure of witnessing some of the most rude and unprofessional behaviour. During this visit, one of the staff spent at least 10 minutes making snarky comments about the items a recent seller had brought in, another 10 minutes on a tirade about how unreasonable she felt a previous customer had been in trying to barter/​negotiate the price of an item, and swore on at least 5 occasions. All of this was said loudly, on the sales floor, and with at least 4 other customers in the store. Honestly, swearing doesn’t offend me and I understand how difficult it can be to work in retail, but this kind of behaviour doesn’t really belong in the store during store hours.
Website: Clean and professional. Easy to navigate. Pictures are great. Regularly updated with new merchandise. Love having the option to shop online.
Overall, probably one of the best — if not the best — consignment stores in Toronto, in terms of selection and price… granted, there isn’t much competition. Unfortunately, the shopping experience leaves much to be desired and, on occasion, it is downright unpleasant.

Came in with my husband one day just to browse and see if I would find anything that I’d like. After some purse and shoe searching, I found a gorgeous pair of YSL heels. They were unfortunately half a size too big, but if they did fit, I would have purchased them right then and there. One of the employees that was standing by asked how everything is going, so I then told her that they’re too big. She then said «Well maybe it’s a good thing so you don’t have to spend all your money’. Her tone came off as if we don’t have the funds to shop in their store. After that, we just walked right out. Very unfortunate because I was prepared to spend roughly $ 2500. Never coming back.

This place has high end consignment, but is far from affordable. It will come as a total shock as a consignment store– the prices do not match to what is actually used clothing. You can find similar items that can be cheaper or similar priced on sale at the store it originated from. Very confusing as to why the prices are so high. It’s great if you are a seller since they give out 60%, but then does not make sense on the buying end. In the states you can find the same stuff at a consignment store at half the price. They do have really nice bags and very high end things in the store, so it does have that…

I consigned with Haute Classics with both success and without success.
Their customer service for both customers and those selling items is the best I have experienced. They definitely have the highest payment (60% of sale) for sellers in the city, so I will always consider them first. They were willing to re-​consign the second item again for another 90 day period which was wonderful of them; it still didn’t sell, but I don’t consider that piece to be highly sought after — so I am just grateful they were willing to try. They offer a grace period at the end of the consignment period so you have time to get in to retrieve unsold items a bit more at your leisure. In short: they actually work with you like a team which is so rare in this industry.
I like their contract; it is the most clear of any I have consigned with — AND they actually give you a copy of the terms. It’s so bizarre in any contractual dealings that many other consignment stores think it’s okay to not provide one. Anyhoozers, it is not an intimidating contract. Very straight forward. It will take you a couple minutes to read it, but they don’t rush you to sign. They politely let you take your time. Kudos for that! Respectable business people. When they were re-​locating, they clearly communicated that to sellers and provided a reminder at the front of the contract.
I also love that their new location smells fresh (not like Goodwill like some consignment stores) and is organized well enough that it seems like a new retail store.
I don’t like that it’s a pain to get parking, but I’ll gladly overlook that since it’s at a fairly high foot traffic location on Yonge St and St Clair.
I don’t like that they don’t feature every item online, but I get that some items sell better in person rather online.
I like their bright lighting for trying on clothes.
They do not offer online tracking so you know if an item sold so you know if you are picking it up or expecting payment. The odd consignment store does. They are good about answering your calls and emails at the end of the consignment periods so you can find out, though.

This is THE best high-​end consignment store in Toronto!!! I have tried out quite a few consignment stores in the past till I found Haute. I just can’t say enough good things about this store: All their staff are super super nice and super super knowledgable, window and floor display is always clean and very well organized, very reasonable service fee (ie. ⁶⁰⁄₄₀ split where seller gets 60% of the sold price is unheard of in Toronto) I highly recommend this store to anyone who wants good quality fashion pieces at discounted prices.

I love this place. The selection is wonderful, and the consignment rate is great too. They’ll always have something for you, and you’ll never leave empty-​handed.
I used to come here all the time, but have been reluctant to go lately. There are two salesgirls that always seem to be there whenever I pass by. They’re really obnoxious, chatting it up with their friends (I doubt 5 people are scheduled to work on a Tuesday night).
I came in with a bag of clothes I wanted to donate, as another salesgirl told me HC collects clothes for Dress for Success. The two salesgirls told me they didn’t do this, but would hold onto the bag for me while I shopped (it was heavy). One of them actually went through the bag of clothes while I shopped, and then told me that, oh wait, they do take donations for Dress for Success, and she would be delighted to take them. Regardless of whether she actually donated the clothes, I don’t think it was appropriate for her to look through the bag without my permission.

SERIOUSLY? Let me begin by saying this is the Best consignment store EVER for both a seller or a buyer!
The store is located on young street just out side Yonge & St Clair subway station! (They relocated from Yonge and Rosedale)
This store is co owned by to ladies named Stella & Jina both very down to earth and VERY kind! Staff is very friendly and always go out of there way to help me find exactly what I’m looking for!
Everything in the shop looks very fashion forward only brand new or excellent condition even the vintage pieces are in very good condition! They always have plenty of Chanel quilted bags & Hermès birkins available for purchase. Not to mention a wall full of Prada, Gucci, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Valentino,& Celine :)
Shoes are arranged by size smallest to largest left to right. If your looking for a brand new pair of Jimmy’s or Louboutins without paying the off the shelf price you’ve come to the right place!
They also have cases filled with brand new and Vintage scarfs (plenty of Hermes) Some Hermes scarf go all the way back to 1960! Never been worn priced at almost half of retail!!!
Consigners receive a ⁶⁰⁄₄₀ split which is extremely generous considering most consignment stores in the city only allow 30% to 40% on the consigners end !

I feel like this review is a bit redundant, seeing as how everyone agrees that Haute Classics is as good as it gets.
Seriously. IT IS!
The selection is top notch, the pricing fair.
I have recently consigned with them and so far they have been extremely professional and courteous (and incredibly tactful about the items they didn’t want from me.) Their contract is straightforward and they have been responsive to emails regarding pricing.
I highly recommend shopping AND consigning with Haute Classics!

This is hands down the best designer consignment store in Toronto. I have been looking for designer consignment store for years and Haute Classics is my favorite.
I just love this store. This is the place to go if you are serious about designer goods.
Great selection of bags, shoes, clothing, and accessories at reasonable prices. They have so many lovely items from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Louboutin, etc that you can’t find from anywhere else. I never walk out of the store empty handed!
Very well organized, clean and they have an awesome staff. Very kind, helpful and knowledgeable… I always feel so welcomed whenever I walk in to the store.
I can’t wait for next visit to Haute Classics!

THE BEST place to go to consign your clothes and to buy your clothes. Seriously? This beats REmix downtown on Queen street for me.
The shoes (unfortunately) are a hit and miss with sizing, but the rest of the store is properly curated, the pieces are not in bad condition, ugly or crap, and you will walk out of here with something, guaranteed.
It is a lovely shop, the girls there are so sweet and absolutely a pleasure to talk to and I cannot imagine a better consignment shop than this one.
You also won’t be coming across pieces that are too close to the retail price, even though it’s used. It’s pretty reasonable considering it’s designer stuff.
