Hotel Le Germain Maple Leaf Square

I like this hotel, the room was clean, cool looking and I loved the robe! So comfy, the bed was very comfy and the breakfast was good! I highly recommend coming here.

Nice rooms with enough space to not only move around but also settle in with your things for your stay. Service is very nice and housekeeping does turndown at night and places a covered glass of water next to the bed. That alone was a big plus for me. Overall it has a nice modern vibe going on as well.
Location is great — a short walk to most tiff activities and, for me, the Porter airport shuttle.

I picked the Le Germain because it was across the street from a large client and very convenient. Now, regardless of client I stay because the beds are phenomenal, the rain showers are cool and the bathroom, décor, service, food and again — location — are better than any I have had in Toronto so far.

I have stayed here many times — it’s fantastic.
Michael and Michelle are phenomenal in the lobby bar — always smiling and they provide excellent service.
Free Wifi in the main areas.
The rooms are VERY clean and well-​appointed.
There is a large grocery store, an LCBO (liquor store) and a decent restaurant, all contained in the same building as the hotel.
Connected to Toronto’s PATH (underground city).
Cabs are always available out front, and the concierge services are excellent.
Tip: request a ‘west view’ for an unimpeded view of Toronto’s CN Tower — AND — if checking out on a Sunday, as for a late checkout, the hotel is very accommodating about letting their guests staying a little later.

From the moment we pulled up until we checked out we absolutely loved this hotel. The lobby, rooms, bar, services, staff were all simply amazing. We loved the rain shower head and the bed and pillows are better then the ones at home. We stayed here on our honeymoon and received a gift from the staff. We choose this hotel as we were attending a leafs game and the arena is right outside the lobby doors. I highly recommend staying here and plan to come back to Toronto and will never stay anywhere else.

Incredible attention to details, warm welcome, beautiful décor. Easy access to Air Canada Center next door. Room layout was well thought out, easy access to plugs for charging phones, free apples at the front desk, friendly staff. We’ll be back!

Great hotel for the luxury traveller. Organized an event here and the staff and management were on top of all the details!
Atmosphere: Chic and contemporary décor. Service is upscale but not over the top. Great vibe in their lobby-​lounge, but I especially love the breakfast lounge they have reserved for guests on the upper floor.
Impressive street views from all angles of this hotel from the suites to the conference rooms. Nice high ceilings in all the rooms and hallways. Baths and showers are glass-​paned windows. I love the colours that change to blue during Leafs games, which you could probably sit from your bed and watch on the big screen down below!
They really pay attention to details. They give nice added touches that other hotels don’t — iPod dock stations in your room, their signature shiny green apples throughout the hotel, cute little branded water bottles for when you’re on-​the-​go, and their high-​tech service — at Hotel Le Germain it’s all digital. Just press the button in your room to indicate whether you want housekeeping, room service etc — a green light switches on outside your door.
Last but not least, FOOD: excellent! They’re chef’s menu is all hand made with the freshest ingredients. We had smoked trout, churros, king crab & fennel, braised lamb, and a steak-​tartar-​like dish for vegetarians.
If you want to book an event here, their marketing/​event management team is superb! They take care of all the details so you’re in good hands!

I was so in love with the décor and bed that I didn’t notice until two nights later that we had a view of the CN Tower. This hotel is so hip, yet so down-​to-​earth, I loved it immediately. Most importantly, the bed was a large pillowy cloud with high-​end linens. I wanted to sleep for days and days on it. The shower was open glass (you have to close the blinds to the room if you want your traditional private showering experience), and the shower head itself is like standing under a giant gentle raincloud.
The bar downstairs is most excellent, gracious, fun service, and good libations. We wanted a nightcap one night, and they were clearly closing up. I don’t like to keep people from getting home, so I was prepared to leave, but the bartender said she’d be happy to make us one drink. And we didn’t feel rushed at all. We almost missed the bar the night they celebrated earth hour, thankfully, a kind soul assured us they were open, please join them by candlelight. This is a green hotel, very earth-​friendly.
The breakfast leaves a bit to be desired, but I really don’t expect breakfast in a hotel, since I rarely eat it when I’m at home (and it’s free, really, you get what you pay for). The server did make me a nice cup of espresso, so she is in my good graces.
The location is great, right in the middle of Maple Leaf Square, very happening location.

Le Germain never fails to please and impress me and this visit was uniquely entertaining since we booked the «Round Bed Room» which was pretty «shagadelic» to say the least.
It’s not the biggest suite at Le Germain, but it’s more than adequately roomy enough for two plus a canine child, which is our 50lb Amstaff. The bathroom was sprawling a with seperate bath and shower, complete with peek-​a-​boo glass paned window and shades. This suite also boasts a decent sized walk in closet. If I could sum up the décor it’s minimalist modern with a dash of zen.
What makes this room remarkable is the bodacious round bed, and dammit I’m ruined now because once you’ve slept on a bed this comfortable (due to the dreamy «cradle-​your-​body» memory foam mattress) and a bed this large (I’ll call it Empress sized as a King seems dwarfed by comparison) without any hard edges, well I hate to sound morbid, but I doubt I’ll ever sleep this good until I’m dead… or at least until I move into Le Germain permanently *wink-​wink* @hubby :)
Our doggie was also spoiled with an ample sized cushy bed of her own, a fancy packet of treats and a bowl.
Our room service meal was terrific, and brought up to us in a very timely manner, I’d say about 15 – 20 minutes after we ordered. Hubby had the 7oz Beef Tenderloin w. Peppercorn sauce, market veg and frites along with a Haloumi Grilled Cheese salad, while I had the Arctic Char with carrot saffron purée, butter roasted fingerlings and braised broccolini. As usual hubby aspirated his steak with gluttonous zeal, which is a good sign that the meal is up to his standards. As for me I have to say at first I thought the Carrot Saffron purée would futz with the flavour of the melt-​in-​your-​mouth buttery smootheness of the Arctic Char, but it all came together harmoniously like any meal at a four or five star establishment would.
Being one of the coldest weekends in February, it meant we weren’t in the mood to venture out but at one point, we did get cabin fever. Being so close to everything via the underground Path, Le Germain is perfectly situated inside the Maple Leaf complex so one could easily catch a game and a pint at Real Sports bar, and if you get the munchies like I did, there is an awesome Longo’s market that is accessible from the lower floor.
For reference the round bed does NOT rotate around like the one in Austin Powers,
no, it doesn’t spin but this is not Niagara Falls or Vegas, no need for gimmicks from Le Germain. It’s a hotel experience that is sleek modern sexy and classy all the way.

The Hotel Le Germain is beautiful, and perfectly situated.
Since it gets a wee bit chilly in Toronto, they’ve designed it so that you can literally stay indoors, while going about your business.
For instance, this hotel is situated underneath the apartment complexes. This is convenient if you wanted your friend or loved one from out of town to be near, but, not near enough so you’d want to cut them, etc. *we’ve all been there
also– right outside the hotel are several fine dining options to choose from. want to shop? Just stroll on over to the lowest level which is Longos, and get your groceries done. Also near by is starbucks, dry cleaning, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can pick up a canadian baby.

Real Sports, our third sports bar stop of the day, wasn’t doing it for us so we bailed. Baffled that my date just said no to the crown jewel of North American sports bars (they ARE showing the US Open, but with NFL sound blasting through the speakers? Too confusing! :)), we started walking and saw a blue flash of hardcourt through the window.
The Germain was showing the Open in a sleek lobby bar (Play Lounge) with a fun but professional bartending staff that make a fetchin’ caesar, which includes tequila and is topped with Steam Whistle! A good drink for a hangover. The food list looked fine. The appetizers were affordable; the mains appeared overpriced. We chatted up some visitors from London and provided some resto reccos. It was a gay old time.
This is a cool hideaway in the middle of the Maple Leaf Square chaos — I heard the hotel is really nice, and I’m surprised it’s flown so under the radar. Do they want it to be? I assume not.

I loved this hotel! Very boutique like. Came in the end of August for the Drake concert. Check in was a breeze. Once we went into the room there was a personalized note welcoming us as well as a desert waiting for us. The bed is soooo comfortable! Between the pillows and the mattress I did not want to get out of bed. It was our first time in Toronto and we didn’t know what was happening around town. The staff was very helpful in telling us places. One staff member got us complimentary admission to a club/​lounge Muzik. Beautiful btw! Knowing that i was a huge Drake fan the concierge at the hotel made reservations at Harbour 66 steakhouse. Went out of his way to get us reservations in 5 minutes and paid for our desert! Will def be back!

I stayed at the Hotel Le Germain Maple Leaf Square for New Years Eve and it was absolutely beautiful, clean, modern with the added bonus of a 4 pm check out. Who doesn’t love a 4 pm check out after NYE?!
This is the second Le Germain boutique hotel in Toronto and it is fairly new. It is literally right in front of the Air Canada Center. I personally have not stayed at the Le Germain on Mercer Street, but these are some of the reasons why this is so great:
1. The massive superior king bed suite: Spacious, high ceilings, nice view of the CN tower, modern wood finishings, hard loft walls, flat screen TV
2. The washroom: So posh, separate shower between room and washroom, extra storage space, separate toilet area
Other perks:
3. Espresso machine: need my caffeine fix as soon as I wake up
4. Breakfasts until 2 pm on the second floor which also offers ²⁴⁄₇ coffee
5. Valet parking with in and out privileges ($ 35+ tax/​night) which was $ 1 cheaper than the regular parking next door which didn’t have in and out privileges
6. Molton Brown bath products: Love this British line
7. The water dispensers on every corner in each floor
8. Ice Dispensers: this came in handy for our champagne including the ice bucket included in the room and the wine decanter
9. Extremely nice and helpful staff
This is definitely a great hotel. The ONLY reason why I’m not giving it a 5 star is because the fire alarm went off at 4 am and kept going for exactly 30 minutes despite the false call and with the two fire trucks already there. It was excruciatingly painful to hear for that long.
