Very easy to connect. Had a statutory declaration to be notarized. Emailed him late night and responded quickly. Meeting place and time were as per my schedule. Very reasonable fees. Will surely see him in the future for legal documentations and advise.

I reached out via email at at 10pm Thursday, he promptly responded answering any questions I had and providing me with some verbiage to add into the document I needed notarized. By the next evening I was meeting with him at the Starbucks on Dupont, signing what needed to be signed and sent on our way for a very reasonable cost.
If you are a high detail individual that requires phone time or consultations, Vinh might not be the guy for you. If you have actually done your research, know what needs to be done with maybe a bit of clarification on the way — and you can handle doing that in written form via text message or email — then Vinh delivers the goods.

Worst Unilocal experience ever.
Based on the reviews here at Unilocal,I contacted Vinh to get wills and power of attorney documents done for my husband and I.
After emailing the completed forms he sent we didn’t hear back and after numerous attempts to reach him by text and email we left a voicemail message and received a nasty text back that there were lots of reasons why he didn’t reply, he could have had a personal emergency. He didn’t say he did, he said he COULD HAVE.
Thing is, we found recent tweets online under his name and none of it was about being unavailable due to some sort of emergency, and his voicemail message made no mention of being unavailable.
All it would have taken was a 2 line reply to just one of our texts or emails to say he doesn’t handle wills anymore, or that he never received the completed form. Instead he was totally unprofessional.
I was originally afraid to post a negative review for a lawyer but I read another bad review and figured I owe it to my fellow Unilocalers to share my experience.

On Thursday at about 10pm, I received a lease that I needed to have notarized in four places, and overnight Fedex’d to New York City for arrival on Friday before noon.
At 10:30pm on Thursday after Googling I found Vinh’s website. I texted him and received a reply in about 15 minutes: we texted back and forth with mutually agreeable time blocks and made an appointment for the next day at 11am at the Starbucks at Christie and Dupont which he mentions on his website. He was very flexible with his schedule.
Vinh arrived promptly. He is professional and efficient. We completed the whole transaction in under 5 minutes. 4 signatures cost $ 45, exactly as described on his site’s fee schedule ($ 15 for the first one, $ 10 for each subsequent, HST and GST already calculated in).
Granted I had to trek all the way down from North York where I live, but compared to the notary office near my home, which wanted to charge me $ 30/signature, this was an amazing value.
CONS: (for some, not for me): Vinh gives zero ****s about what you think of him.

Only reason I subtracted one star is for the messy WordPress site, all the domains he bought up and the tacky Google keywords plastered in massive blocks across the footers, and the no-bullshit frankness on his website («If I have to wait longer than 10 minutes without any notices from you I will leave. You will be better served by another lawyer. I will not answer or engage in further communication with you no matter the fee you may offer. I do not engage with people who do not respect my time.»), which might strike some as too forward and unprofessional.
That said, this is probably a necessity to weed out the people who can’t be bothered to take the time to read his website properly, which really does provide all the information you need to interact with Vinh in a way that matches the amount of money and time that you are willing to put into getting what you need. You want to pay less than $ 15 for each notarized signature? You want an actual lawyer to do it? Then the tradeoff is the pretty website, the nice receptionist, or being able to mess around/be late/not have all your stuff figured out when he shows up.
SUMMARY

Would it be nice if his website didn’t look like a wall of multicolored text? Sure. But at these prices, he doesn’t need the frills. There are no viable competitors. He’s set up a clever revenue model, and at the end of the day he holds the leverage in the customer relationship — HE is the one with the notary stamp, not you.
My hat is off to this guy.

Vinh was a fantastic to do business with. I emailed him, he quickly responded and I was able to set up an appointment same-day to notarize my document. He met us in a convenient location downtown, where I was able to get free parking (which when checking the other law offices in the area, paid parking was going to be a give-in). His fees are also way below the other notaries, for the same seal and stamp that they would provide. Happy customer here.

I was given Vinh’s name as a referral to perform some legal work for my mother before she passed. I tried contacting him multiple times and he did not answer emails or texts. This is unprofessional of him and shortly after, my mother passed away and we still did not hear from him.
All we needed was a will drafted but at the very least, an acknowledgement that we were seeking his legal services but nothing was provided.

I just met Vinh today, and he is the real deal. I needed a commissioner for a simple document, I got it done under a few minutes for only $ 15! I believe in the theory «You get what you pay for,» but I have to say, this was definitely worth more than what you pay for.
Vinh is very polite and personable, and best of all, a very legit lawyer. I got my document stamped and sealed at a Starbucks in downtown Toronto. I had a very pleasant chat with him afterwards. Great guy, great service. I highly recommend him to anyone that require a notary public.

This guy was great – so nice and helpful, even just beyond notarizing the document I needed.
I emailed him around 11 last night because I thought it might be too late to text, and he replied within probably 5 minutes and was more than willing to schedule around my availability for the following day (today).
He met me at the Starbucks across from the Loblaws at Dupont and Christie, charged me $ 15, was willing to take a cheque, and even told me where I could find a nearby FAX machine (it was just a couple doors down!).
It was also nice that he posted his photo on his website and Unilocal because it made it really easy to spot him.

Vinh was extremely helpful with my notary services, met at my convenience for time and location, offered multiple ways of payment and offers the lowest prices I’ve seen for notary services. I don’t review on Unilocal often but I was extremely satisfied with the interaction and felt the need to recommend him to anyone who may benefit from his service.
Make sure to check out his website to read his policies and fees, and send him a text to make an appointment. It only took 2 texts and 4 minutes to set up a convenient appointment that same day.

I kind of thought this had to be a scam, really. It sounded too good to be true. Someone will come to my home and stamp/notarize my stuff for the same price as trekking into an office? And do that on evenings, weekends and holidays too? There must be a catch. I decided to test it out and see though-considering the other notary services in town that only open weekdays meant I’d have to wait weeks to get my work done.
As it turns out, there’s no catch. Vinh Tran is working independently as a lawyer in Chinatown and also provides this super affordable and convenient notary service. It’s even cheaper if you can make it to certain downtown locations on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday during the day-$ 15 for the 1^st document! I still think I got a bargain with my house call. There was no travel fee because I’m within 2 km of the base office at Dragon City Mall and my fee was $ 40. For that I could get 2 documents notarized. The process itself was just fantastic. Vinh is easily contactable by text or email (he’s a man after my own heart-don’t call him!) and there was no problem organising an appointment for Sunday evening when I texted on Sunday afternoon. He was on time/early and extremely professional. He’s also pleasant, genuine and approachable. I can’t really think of a downside to this. Price comparable to other services, outside of normal business hours and I didn’t have to step foot outside my building. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!
