I like the espresso drinks here but agree that the atmosphere leans towards hipster-frantic and the service can be obnoxious(although I’ve had friendly chats with batistas as well). It may be the club of Cabbagetown coffee shops, but is still way better than either Slutbucks or Tim Whorton’s.

Imagine someone slapping you in the face in the morning to wake you up but you like it. Thats Jet Fuel Coffee.

The good: Great music playing in the background, service from someone who knows their coffee, good supply of NOW magazine, encouraging you to sit and stay awhile. The not as good: no menu, so ordering is a little intimidating :-S, seems like only the basics– coffee and a small selection of cookies, comfortable chairs but not a spot to kick back with a giant plush leather chair type feel

Great coffee, but not so great service. The girl at the counter was in a full on conversation with someone and ignored the customers in line for a good minute or two. Also just took the money and dropped the change on the counter, turning away without so much as a word. Came off as kind of a brat.

A nice espresso only joint with some antique type furniture and old stereo system. The main going lady making the coffee was kind and smiley and strong voiced making sure she knew what you needed. Lots and lots of seating. This is a better option than Starbucks or Tim’s. Of course you will pay more but support local and enjoy a better unique experience. All good!

For me, the best coffee shop in the area. Honest coffee, good price, reliable wifi, great atmosphere. You cannot be wrong there. Their cortado is just perfect.

There must be a college somewhere that teaches indie coffee baristas how to dial in a gind, make microfoam and dish out attitude to customers. If there is, the staff here trained there and graduated with honours because they make a decent coffee and serve it up win a generous helping of attitude. Good coffee and pastries. Everything else about the place is obnoxious — the servers, the music, the overall experience. Go for the coffee, try to ignore the rest or find someplace more congenial. With all the the new coffee shops popping up we’ will all soon have some choice based not just on coffee quality but also service.

Good coffee, fast wifi. But seriously turn your screamo down. Loudest music in the world, this is 2 pm on a Wednesday, not midnight on a Saturday.

Absolutely delicious coffee. Worth travelling for. In fact, I would say it is one of the only coffee’s worth travelling for. I’ve never tasted a bean as unique and utterly addicting as Jet Fuel’s coffee.

They serve up their coffee with 1 shot and 500 ml of milk. Pretty much no different from Starbucks across the street, but you get a lot of attitude from behind the counter to go with it. The line at the bar can get quite long and the one barista is just churning out the coffees one after another, not taking the time to properly pack the espresso or steam the milk. Would not come back. There is also no menu or price list, I was charged 3.25 for my double shot latte in small cup(I asked for not too much milk).

this is hipster heaven central for hipster cabbage town. no bullshit coffee served here. i don’t know how it’s there now but back in the days, it was a great place to hang out for a bit and shoot the shit and have a cup of coffee. a lot of bike couriers hung out here back then. it was smaller. they have now opened up the ceiling more and the place looks bigger. the downstairs washrooms are still the same: kind of nasty but whatever… just do your thing and begone with you! nothing much to eat although jet fuel used to make muffins and they were great. justin used to make them. i really miss the old jet fuel… still a great place for a latte or coffee.

A legend in it’s own right, this place has great memories for anyone you ask. The coffee is excellent. The lattes are giant. The prices are cheap. The old school hip hop is great. It’s a place with character. Always has and hopefully always will be. You walk out knowing you purchased your coffee from the right place and smile.

I have a hard time understanding why people have a problem with this place. The coffee is fantastic, the service is simple and efficient, and there is plenty of seating and outlets for all day loungers. If you are the type of person who requires inauthentic smiles and giant menus to hum and haw over for 2 minutes while a line of people forms behind you, go find a McCafe, a Starbucks, or a Second Cup. If you know what you want to drink and prefer to buy it for less than everywhere else, come here. You won’t have a barista validate your existence by being phony friendly to you, instead you’ll get served by someone who won’t waste your time.

Fantastic latte, great neighborhood-y vibe. On Saturday mornings mommies and daddies bring their wee ones so get ready for a full house. On a weekday it’s a far more superior alternative to the perennially overrun Starbucks across the street. My god, the music here is eclectic but always tasteful. The only thing is it tends to be on the deafening side. It’s ok, I seem to be more productive when I’m lulled into a trance state by coffee and music!

3.5 stars. Cool space, good espresso, but staff is rather impersonal but efficient. $ 2 Americanos… pretty cheap.

Delicious coffee. That is all. One of the best I’ve had, I usually order with almond milk. They make all different varieties of flavour and they aren’t too expensive definitely worth every penny.

were checking out cabbage town and wanted a place to relax. good smooth coffee. but, chairs are uncomfortable hard plastic and harsh bright lamps light up art on the wall. drinks were good, but atmosphere could use a little work.

Was in the neighbourhood on Sunday and dropped in for an americano — excellent coffee. Some of the best in the city! Plus, the barista’s are warm, welcoming and treat you like an old pal.

This is my new favourite café because it gets my creative juices flowing. The café is super unconventional as there are no menus. All standard drinks are 2 sizes, and they are $ 3 or $ 4. I’ve tried their cappuccino and London fog and both were great, and most importantly, doesn’t contain any nasty sugary sweetener syrup. The café is small, full of artsy people and is buzzing at all times. I really like the comic strip art on the wall and I think that is what gets my creativity going. I’ve composed writing pieces here as well as started on making some holiday greeting cards. The table space is the usual size, so I wouldn’t recommend bringing any large projects. There’s just something about the place that makes me feel at peace with myself. I think it’s that people are really focused at what they are doing here. I’ve seen a girl edit papers with a stop watch and people working intensely on their laptops. It just looks like a really productive place. I’ll definitely be back.
