pretty great location to come and get groceries, I love the fact that this location has two level parking, because I hate getting rained on, so its always nice to park underground, more often then not, the underground parking is jammed pretty tightly with no spaces, because people prefer it. the location is above average in food quality and selection, the staff are great, and its pretty clean on the inside, my only negatives is the parking situation and ease of getting in and out of the place is sometimes painful.

This is my local Supermarket. Very close and convenient, funny thou if you have the time much nicer fruit and produce at Bloor West small shops and better prices. Plenty of staff but most are complacent. You standing at a counter waiting for service seems rather a bother. On several occasions after waiting for several minutes without acknowledgement you need to yell accross to get any service. Department managers seem to carry same level of interest in your satisfaction. I go here because it is close not because it wins me over with service and quality or price. Always impressed with PC and spledito products and prepared foods.

This is my neighborhood Loblaws. It’s vegan and vegetarian section is terrible — even basic things like tofu and soy milk is touch and go in terms of selection. Will have to start making a regular trek to Whole Foods it would seem. Also the fresh veggies section is never completely stocked. I will be avoiding shopping here when possible.

Yep. It’s a big box grocery store. Here are a few good and bad points… 1. The layout forces pedestrians to cross the traffic area right off Dundas Street. When people turn too fast, better hope they see you. 2. Things here are expensive. They will sell the same Presidents Choice stuff here for higher prices than at No Frills. 3. They do have good organic choices, as well as quite a lot of ready to grill and deli items. The kabobs are quite good. If I need to grab some extra already prepared items from the deli for a party or for dinner, they have always been good. 4. The place is clean compared to most other stores and it is well-stocked. 5. Service here is OK. They seem to have more than the typical number of staff, but no one is knocking themselves out to offer assistance. All in all, this Loblaws has good specialty item variety and organic choices. Three and a half stars.

I admit I’m a big fan of big grocery stores, but this is above par by any standards– very spacious, clean, attractive, great bathroom(!), and my favourite thing is the uniformly super-friendly and helpful staff.

My review is specifically about their garden centre. Although it might be considered small as compared to a ‘big box’ place, I was amazed at the selection but even more amazed at the quality. And their prices are the same or better than anywhere else. We bought everything we needed including two kinds of soil for our garden and mulch with larger-sized chips(hard to find anywhere). The pièce de résistance, however, were the herbs we bought. Simply amazing quality. I have never seen such large, healthy, luscious herbs for such a great price. We bought only bought cilantro, thyme, and lemon thyme because we had already bought some herbs the weekend before. Cilantro is actually difficult to find, in my experience and I have NEVER heard of lemon thyme and it smells incredible! The regular thyme is also SO fragrant. They also had another type of basil with tiny leaves. I can’t remember its name now but it was OUTRAGEOUSLY fragrant. I’m telling you, if you like herbs, you must buy them here. They are by far the best I have ever seen.

This location has the worst staff I have ever come across. The black girl at the hot foods had such an extremely bad attitude when I asked her if she wouldn’t mind wiping the cement dry food spills. She acted like it was somehow racist for me to ask her to do the job that’s part of her job description! She claimed she couldn’t assist me as she was dealing with javex bleach. I suggested that if that’s the case, she should try putting on some gloves, as it’s an occupational health & safety issue. That’s right, toots, get a reality check and a real job! There’s another middle aged woman who coughs & sneezes regularly on the food. I plan to contact Public Health.

As my local big box grocery store, I frequent this Loblaws quite a bit. The store does not have some of the household items that you can find at a Loblaws Superstore, but does have a fantastic assortment of Italian food products in two sections, near the bakery and one at the back near the frozen foods. They have a better selection of nice olive oils(try the Ligurian olive oils!), vinegars, pasta and jarred Italian products than a lot of places. The fresh produce is good in a pinch, but I’d much prefer to go to one of the markets in Bloor West Village. Compared to other grocery stores in the neighbourhood, I would rate this as one of the best.

The Humbercrest Loblaw’s has a variety of fresh produce and products for those who live in the area. It is filled with very friendly and knowledgeable staff as well as freshly made food and fresh seafood as well. Definitely worthwhile to consider this a permanent choice of supermarket. There is no lack of parking with an upstairs lot and downstairs lot. The prices are reasonable for the quality and freshness, including the ready-to-eat meals and items.

Not a bad grocery store, the staff are all pretty friendley and the selection is there. There’s nothing great about this location, but, if you’ve been to one Loblaws, I guess you’ve been to all. ‘Nuf said

When I lived in the neighbourhood, and I was done perusing the local markets in Bloor West Village for fresh produce and the like, I was more than happy to find this place for all the other items that needed to fill a pantry. Not quite a super-store, but not a No-Frills( ) either, this Loblaws is about the right size to give a decent variety of product as well as some decent produce as well. Parking’s pretty ample, the aisles are wide, and the produce is surprisingly fresh. So if you got caught out and can’t find what you need in the Bloor Street West markets, you can probably find a decent alternative here. All the usual President’s Choice products are on offer, so have no fear in being able to lob a box of the Decadent Chocolate Chip Cookies in the cart. The prices you’ll find are also pretty reasonable and in-line with a typical Loblaws. If you’re in the ‘hood, you’ll find this place pretty useful.

Don’t let the folksy name fool you: this«Humbercrest Market» Loblaws is just as monstrous as most of its corporate kin, and boasts the same sweeping selection at more up-market prices. The parking lot is a bit tricky to get in and out of(small and narrow entrance), but the underground section isn’t too dreary, decorated as it is with murals. This Loblaws has been going through a bit of an inventory restructuring of late, since the chain didn’t have success in taking on Wal-Mart in the everything-under-one-roof game. Many of the non-grocery items have been scaled back, which meant there were some good deals to be had on frivolous knickknacks like electric panini makers a few weeks ago. How the change in focus will play out is still up in the air, I think.
