Great place to go in and discover new things to try — they carry everything you will ever want, and then make you discover new things you didn’t know you wanted to try. I bought a strawberry paste this weekend, for example, and made a magnificent strawberry cake with strawberry cream cheese icing. I plan on taking a cake decorating class as well. Great little store that inspires anyone to bake like a pro!

I finally had the time to walk into this store to find out what baking equipment they had. It’s a small store, but I took the chance and decided to enquire about a particular pastry mould. As I entered, a voice from the back of the store asked me if I needed anything, a lady, who never got up from her chair, made me repeat my request 3 times. She finally told me that if I spoke English, she might be able to help me!

I agree with the first review. This store is really excellent. I live in the area so pass by on my walk home from the subway. The prices are great and the lady who runs the shop is very helpful. It’s a small store but if you’re into baking they have pretty much everything. I’ve noticed they don’t have all the Wilton products, but they’ve brought in a lot of very similar (and sometimes less expensive) asian equivalent products that are of good quality.
They also have classes here and from what I can see of the gumpaste flowers displayed the teachers are highly skilled. Unfortunately I haven’t had the time to go yet!

Today I decided that I should make filled chocolates as a nice xmas gift. I’ve never done this before so I needed to get a few tools like molds. I went to a few of the gourmet kitchen stores that I like, but none really had the right stuff for chocolate making. Enter Madame Gateaux. In this little shop, not only did I find both the equipment and the supplies that I was looking for, I also found someone who was willing to help me greatly. As the name suggests, the store is entirely focused on helping you get to the point where someone will make a television series about your cake making prowess.
