History
Established in 1991.
In 1991, Al Salomon and his business partner and chef, Stephen, began the journey to find the perfect space in Toronto for a fresh new catering company. The search proved difficult — with little money to invest, the two men settled on a tiny space with the necessary equipment.
The first part of the company name came from Stephen’s use of marigolds to add flavor and color to his dishes, while the rest of the name was yet to be determined. When the two men opened the door of their new space, there sitting on the floor, was a single onion. And so, Marigolds & Onions was born.
From humble beginnings of catering muffins for a private jet owner, to handling large events like the Rogers Cup, Marigolds & Onions has created lasting relationships with clients and venues and a reputation for producing memorable events, both large and small. Here at M&O we take pride in keeping in touch with our roots, and provide the same level of service and detail to each event we are a part of.
