Specialties
We specialize in cuts that are custom tailored to what you would like your hair to be like. Each persons hair is different so instead of sticking to a limited amount of «cuts» we work on creating new «shapes» for everyone. When it comes to hair colour almost anything is possible. It comes down to how long it will take. Some specialty colours will be a 3 week process and I won’t skip the down time to do it all at once without the best results. There is no point in having white blonde hair if it looks, feels and breaks like cotton candy.
History
Established in 2010.
Working in high end Yorkville salons from the age of 19 Matthew was trained by Artists Daniel Fiorio, Raffaello Marrello (one of the first hairdressers to use scissors instead of razors as well as charge 50 $ haircut in a time that the common price was 5 $) and hired Sabino Ditacchio (former winner of Worlds) to teach him. Styling hair in Toronto’s fashion week, Miss Canada, Miss Universe, published work internationally and known locally Matthew has been featured on TV news newspapers and radio shows. But all of this doesn’t really matter that much to Matthew because instead of being a «high end» stylist Matthew wants to be your friend helping you get what you want and having fun through the process. Matthew Genser Salon and wellness spa is focused on giving you the best hair and skincare you can achieve. You have been our goal since the day we opened.
