I went to MetroCycle after having my previously stolen bike returned to me in really rough shape. It required a full tune-​up, as well as several repairs and part replacements. Gordon was extremely knowledgable of what needed to be done and offered his recommendations. He put no pressure on me to have it all done (although I did) and had it back in riding condition the next day. My bike looked beautiful. I wanted to cry, but somehow managed to hold it together.
I will 100% be going back to Gordon in the future — he’s such a nice/​friendly guy. You can totally trust him for your biking needs. Thanks again, Gordon!

I used MetroCycle for the first time this year for my spring tune-​up and I’m really happy with the results. Gordon took the time to walk me through his suggested fixes for my bike, and actually explain what he thought should be done. I ride daily for most the year, and usually don’t notice much difference after the spring tune-​up, but this time it was a much better ride (so his suggestions were spot on). Gordon also works quickly and I liked being able to schedule an appointment to drop the bike off and pick it up a day later.

Unbelievable service. Gordon will treat your bike as his own. He molded by hand my wheel back into shape after it was twisted. Give him a call before you go because he is admittedly popular, but for all the right reasons.

My tuneup here was done meticulously and the difference, in riding the bike, is unmistakeable. It feels like a new bike. Gordon is very nice and eager to explain things. His to-​the-​hour scheduling system is an advantage over other repair shops, where you drop off your bike for days or weeks. Not inexpensive exactly: a tuneup cost $ 75 here, which from what I’ve read is slightly above average for Toronto. It may be that Gordon spends more time with your bike than these other places. Not a complaint anyway, just an FYI.

This was my first time going to MetrocycleTO to get my bike fixed up and I will for sure go back again. Gordon is by far the friendliest bike mechanic in Toronto and is super eager to ensure you get exactly what you want out of your service with him. As an added bonus he’s got an infectious smile. I can say that Gordon and his business are true gems to the Parkdale neighborhood. He redeemed a clunker of a bike for me which was on its last legs and made it look and feel brand new. My vintage Supercycle was covered in rust and now it shines like new! Gordon did an amazing job buffing the frame and wheels. He also attached a basket to the front with zip ties and a brace and threw in a quick tune up and test ride — all for only $ 85. The service was fairly quick. I dropped it off on a Tuesday and the next day it was ready for pick-​up. As others have said, Gordon is clearly knowledgable and passionate about what he does. Highly recommended.

Gordon was awesome. We live in the west end and he’s by far the youngest bike mechanic with his own practice, and is quite reliable and easy to deal with over the phone. He was really quick and called back same-​day, saying our bike was ready to go. When we picked it up, he encouraged us to take it for a spin to check everything was in order. He even gave a quick lesson on how to handle vintage brakes correctly, and also offered to wrap our handles as part of the Advanced tune-​up he provided. If you’re tired of waiting outside shops, and feeling like a tool in the process, Gordon is the guy to go to. Super friendly, attentive, professional service and fair prices for what he does.

I lost my bike key and didn’t know what to do. Luckily a friend on Facebook knew Gordon from MetroCycle and put us in touch with each other. Gordon was punctual, courteous and efficient — he cut off the old lock, replaced it, tuned up my bike (and pumped up my kid’s tire) all within an hour at my house. I will definitely use MetroCycle again and recommend Gordon to everyone I know.

I’ve used MetrocycleTO twice now– once for a flat repair and once for a full tune-​up and front/​back tire replacement. I doubt I’ll have my bike serviced by anyone else in the future. Gordon is clearly passionate about bikes and one of the goals of his business seem to be to make bike repair accessible and affordable. Gordon is really careful to explain everything about my bike in clear language, even pulling up diagrams on his smart phone to help me understand what needs to be done. Bike culture can be pretty exclusive/​intimidating and there have been many times where people in bike shops, particularly men, have made me feel stupid and ignorant and been downright rude to me. Gordon is a talented mechanic and also a skillful business person and communicator. As a small business owner I can tell that Gordon runs a tight ship and I love how he involved me in the process of creating my own invoice/​receipt using Square. He’s put a lot of obvious care into my bike and both times the service has been above and beyond my expectations. I love how friendly and personable he is, he even adjusted my brakes to suit my small hands– how thoughtful! The value of this service and the turn-​around time is unbeatable, a hidden Parkdale gem.

I took my bike to Gord at the beginning of the summer for a tune up. I met him at his house after setting up an appointment time, and we went over the bike and what kind of tune up I needed. I’m by no means a bike expert and am always weirdly paranoid that ‘experts’ will scoff at my dumb questions and laugh in my face (give or take), so I was relieved at how friendly and patient he was at listening and explaining things.
I left my bike with him, picked it up a few days later, and everything was good as new (he had even cleaned my bike up with some steel wool to remove some of the rust forming).
I’ve been riding it for a few months now and it’s been great. This is my new bike repair place; if you’re in Parkdale, I’m not sure why you’d go anywhere else.

Gord fixed my flat tire on the spot, and he also lubed my chain too, free of charge. I’d love to come back here, he was super nice and my bike runs great now. Thanks Gord, and see you next time!

I can’t recommend this place enough, the service was extremely friendly and skillful. I brought in my bike for a tune up and it was in a bit of rough shape from sitting around all winter, Gord made some recommendations and went over everything he planned on doing and made sure it was all ok with me, which it was. The prices are really reasonable… I’ve definitely payed more for less.
When I picked it up I was so thrilled! He did such an awesome job making a bunch of adjustments and getting everything in good working order, plus it’s now sparkling and rust free. I’m super happy with how it feels to ride.
One thing to note is that it’s by appointment only, but that really made no difference since I was able to drop it off shortly after calling.
All in all, it was great and I’ll definitely continue going there.

Quick, friendly and affordable. Took my bike in for an inner tube change and he also cleaned and greased up my gears and chain at no extra charge. I’d recommend MetroCycleTO to anyone in Parkdale.
