This Michael’s actually doesn’t have as much as I thought it would. I was looking for a particular item & trying to find someone who worked there to help me. I’m not sure if the staff were busy or just trying to avoid customers because whenever I caught a glimpse of someone they would rush off & disappear. Other than that, they had the normal stock of arts & craft supplies. The dollar store at empress walk has many of the same items for cheaper.

I have purchased many things from this huge store in the past year. I recently purchased a wooden picture frame for a painting I love dearly. They have anything you can imagine from candles, to ribbons, to pens, and calendars and much more. Even my friend purchased some of her wedding decoration and invitation cards from here. If you’re looking for a place to purchase holiday decorations or planning a themed party, look no further. Big or small, you can pretty much find anything at Michael’s.

This didn’t work out well for me. I called in advance, and had them put a few things aside for me. Then I took the subway two hours to get there. And the things weren’t put aside. I had to wait in line thirty minutes to figure this out. Then one cash person said they weren’t there and dismissed me. Another said they weren’t there and called someone. That guy just walked me to where there weren’t enough on the shelf. Then I had to line up again to pay. This was… less than ideal. Choose any other location.

This is like THE go to store for anything from crafts, home décor, giftware and more. Someone like me can especially appreciate the hello kitty stuff they have to offer, but most of it is juvenile to be completely honest. Can’t complain though, because there is a lot of stuff to check out.

Just south of the North York Centre subway stop, this Michael’s is easy to get to. I had come here to have some custom framing done for a gift we were presenting at work. There framing department is located upstairs had has an extensive selection of frames, mats and the like. I came on a Thursday and I was on a bit of a tight deadline. I needed the final product the following Wednesday only to find out that a rush order takes a week. They made note of the urgency and to my surprise, called me Monday night to let me know it was ready for pickup. Fantastic! The service I received was excellent and the product delivered was perfect. I am very happy with my experience at this Michael’s and with the whole team in the framing department!

This Michael’s is insanely huge. It is 2 floors so I love going through the aisles and seeing what I can use to be creative with whether it be for baking or adding jewels to spice up an outfit or accessory. It’s such a fun store to grab ideas from and they even host classes too for the seemingly more adventurous that would like to take a shot at decorating a cake or flower making, etc. My girlfriend and I frequent this location to stock up on craft and baking supplies. I love how this location is also convenient and close to the subway station as well — just right outside North York Subway station(one stop South after Finch) I also recommend this store at work when people to come in and ask about anything art related.

that was my first time at Michaels store(never been to any other location either) they just recently opened(sometime in july) and took over a whole building that used to belong to a furniture store. it’s two full floors of EVERYTHING imaginable you can think of for arts and crafts. I think prices are sometimes too high(some things can be bought at dollarstore 10x cheaper) but then the selection at one place is totally worth it! I went mostly for the jewelry making section and they had it alllll! wires and tools, beads and stones, books on how to make earrings and bracelets and organizers for beads of all sizes and shapes. Super amazing selection. finding sales associate on the floor was a bit of a challenge but still possible. Once found she was super friendly and trying her best to help. they also have regular classes on everything — jewelry making, cakes decoration, sewing, stitching and what’s not… when I was there there was a group having a cupcake decoration class=) they’re located in a glass room so everyone can see what’s happening inside. 2nd floor is full of photo and scrapbooking related stuff. It looks like they have printing studio there too and custom frame making. l’m addicted to this store already!

Love Michaels! They just opened this location in the heart of North York. I’ve been seeing the COMINGSOON sign for the LONGESTTIME… For the first few days, they were giving away some goodies known to craft addicts like myself. The Cricut machine, Grand Calibur(for die cutting) & i believe gift certificates. No purchase necessary either. How attractive! There are two levels(huge!!!). I thought it was quite brilliant how the classroom is facing Yonge Street so that it would entice ppl to take classes & see what’s going on. Usually at other Michael’s locations, the classrooms are at the back. There is limited parking at the back but it’s on the subway line. If you are desperate enough & if it’s after hours, you could also sneak ur car on the Socia Bank parking lot on Hillcrest… or maybe Dairy Queens… Make sure to download your Michaels app to your phone before you go. Just show them the 40% off coupon and all is good! You definitely don’t want to pay full price. There are deals every week. Great place for arts and crafts.
