Formed as Miller, Thomson, Hicks & Sedgewick, it is now one of Canada’s leading business law firms.

Starting with just six Toronto lawyers, Miller Thomson’s practice underwent two dramatic periods of growth. The first was through the 1960s, and again between 1992 – 2007 through a series of mergers with well-​respected firms and practices that have helped build a strong national presence for Miller Thomson.

Through strategic growth, the firm has added enhanced capabilities, depth and resources to serve its steadily expanding domestic and international client base.

Gerald D. Courage is the Chairman of Miller Thomson LLP. Mr. Courage was elected Chairman of the firm in 2008.

Mr. Courage has particular expertise in the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, corporate finance and business succession planning.
