I do not recommend this place. I did not get a chance to receive the services that I paid for in full due to their disgusting customer service. Save yourself the hassle and go to another place. Even if you have a Groupon, I would not recommend.

A very clean and nice looking establishment, however the people who run it are a bunch of quacks. They are extremely rude and condescending. The only good one (an aggressive Greek aesthetician) isn’t even there half the time. Although she may not be everyone’s favourite, she is very thorough with the work she does. The receptionists are completely useless and care more for the dog than the customers… wouldn’t recommend.

From my first hand customer experience, my review is: Truly awful service, shady and exploitive business practices, and an all-​around terrible experience. Spend your money elsewhere.
Update: Here’s what I personally found shady and exploitive from my experience with a Groupon package: (Groupon has since refunded the remainder of my package and apologized for my terrible experience as a client of Mint Laser Clinic.)
Shady: offering additional ‘cash only’ packages in person and avoiding charging and remitting HST. Another word for that is illegal.
Exploitive: re-​negotiating higher rates and packages while the client is undressed and in the middle of treatment.
I attempted to offer feedback on two separate occasions, once in person immediately following a treatment and again on the telephone while attempting to schedule another with a different technician. I was rudely rebuffed on both occasions — and hung up on the second and last time.
From my personal, first hand experience, Mint Laser’s representative should spend less time attempting to have unflattering reviews deleted from Unilocal and more time addressing her business’ glaring client relations deficiencies.

This is a review for the Liberty Village location.
I purchased a groupon about a year ago for unlimited laser for a year and have had awful experiences here from the beginning. First, I was told I was getting five body parts included in my deal. When I showed up for my first appointment the technician told me that only four were recorded as part of my deal. I reminded her that SHE sold me my package and she promised five body parts. She complied and said she now remembers.
Every appointment was greeted by an unfriendly receptionist that has a small dog running around the salon. Not sure if this is sanitary or necessary. Regardless of the dog, this woman is totally rude and will try to book you for an appointment with an eight week gap instead of six. Then she’ll tell you that they are ALL BOOKED for the next eight weeks and that is their earliest appointment. That is impossible. In my year of appointments I’ve only seen a handful of other clients in the clinic.
My third appointment was done by another technician that was from another location. What should have taken her thirty minutes to do she did in ten minutes. I called the next day to complain that I basically missed one of my appointments because this technician was so awful and I was told by the woman on the phone that I would be given an extra appointment at the end of my year. Of course, at my next appointment, I tried to confirm this and no note was written in my file. The receptionist was a huge bitch and basically told me that it was too bad and nothing could be done.
At this clinic, everyone will tell you they’re the manager and they own the place so basically if they say nothing can be done, nothing can be done. They are rude, unprofessional, and will make you feel uncomfortable.
Do yourself a favor, don’t come here. Not even with a groupon. Go somewhere else with a Soprano XL machine!

Worst customer experience ever. i paid $ 700 for 7 –20 minute sessions. Besides dont give you 20 minutes long sessions (way shorter than that) these people only book you in ridiculously times and dont explain your re booking police. You have to pay 50 dolLars every time your plans changes. They made up booking I DID not do and wanted to charge for them. I asked to speak w management and for my surprise it was the same rude person over the phone. Anyway they robbed me one session and treatment like s (!&#^^ everything time I wanted to book sessions. horrible place horrible service. they only want your money

This is the very first time I leave a review for anything, which goes to show that I just could not sit back and allow this clinic to continue their horrible practice!
As many of you have done, I bought the 1 year 6 areas groupon package, and on my first visit I was basically forced into ‘upgrading’ WHILE I WAS NAKED on the table and the procedure had started already.
I had my lower legs and brazilian treated because they told me that each is equivalent to 3 areas — therefore I had 2 areas treated, the upgrade for the area which I thought should have been covered under the ‘brazilian’ was another $ 199.
Every time I came for an appointment and almost always I came early, I had to wait a minimum of 30 minutes, and the receptionist wouldn’t even acknowledge it or try to explain why. I would have to remind her that I’ve been waiting and ask her what is happening. She was so blasé, so matter-​of-​fact, and even once told me something like «it’s like a doctor’s office, everybody always has to wait». Hahahahahahaha The place is incredibly unprofessional, the estheticians seem to be very amateur, uneducated in the field, I wonder if they are certified at all. I think I had over 8 sessions and really no results worth mentioning, on the contrary I have ingrowns like I have never had before! I don’t think the machines they use are up to par or they never seem to use the right intensity. After every session I would tell the esthetician that I’m not seeing any drastic results, and would always get a rehearsed response, «well, you know… everybody is different»… blah, blah…
If you’re not doing your job and not caring because of the «groupon deals» then don’t do groupons! If you believe in your product and want to have happy clients who keep coming back then do your job professionally and ethically! It shouldn’t matter if someone paid $ 500 or $ 5000, do your freakin’ job, commit to it!
If you did, we would not have a problem paying $ 5000, but with your kind of unethical practice I wouldn’t get zapped, not even for FREE!

I went to MINT Laser Clinic & Skin Care in July to have my bikini area lasered and I’m very pleased with the results. After only one treatment (the esthetician did an excellent job) I have a perfectly manicured bikini area now. I will be going back for more treatments for sure. The décor of MINT is pristine and I adore the location in Liberty Village too. I was nervous because it was my first time being lasered and was happy that laser hair removal was not as painful as feared, it just prickles and is over before you know it. The treatment takes about ten minutes — not long at all. If you want a nice triangle patch of happiness down there and live in the GTA, try MINT.

I’m not sure why there’s so much negativity on here. Every appt I’ve had here has been pleasant and fast. No complaints here! Services are expensive but the groupons hey offer are good deals. However, they’re kindof Hollywood and book appointments only month apart from each other which is really one of the only downfalls for me.

Very disappointed to say the least by the customer service standards and results at Mint. Unfortunately, I would not recommend their laser treatments even if the price may be appealing. My results are not where they should be after 15+ sessions total.
In addition to the unhelpful, unaccommodating, and cold demeanour of the receptionist, the quality of service by the technicians varies drastically between appointments. While some technicians were much more thorough than others, you have no control over who you see the day of your appointment.
Getting an appointment is difficult unless you book 6 – 8 weeks in advance and re-​scheduling is nearly impossible. With that being said, they cannot guarantee that you will receive an appointment reminder so make sure not to misplace your appointment card when do you finally get one.
Judging by the comments left by other clients, my bad experience doesn’t appear to be an exception. Spend your time and money elsewhere, Mint is not worth it.

I would never ever go back there again. The personal is rude. They lie about results and the procedures just to convince you to buy it. I had a package of 6 laser hair removals and they promised that it would be enough to completely remove all the hairs and that the procedure is painless. First of all it is not painless at all. On my last procedure they used different machine and it was so painful that I could not stand it and I complained about it, so instead of moving me back to the old one the staff didn’t care at all, she became irritated and finished everything in 2 minutes. I still have most of my hairs on the same place.
And I want to mention the woman on reception, that one is a separate story. She is rude and she has a dog. When I was waiting for my procedure her dog pissed on the carpet in the hallway, this woman didn’t clean it up and went on sitting at her desk as if nothing happened. And this is a CLINIC where everything should be extremely clean! This is just unacceptable.

Good prices and good results, but not worth the frustration of having your appointments repeatedly forgotten and having to wait months in between treatments.

I would not recommend this place. I signed up just to post a review because it’s that bad (but I will post other reviews on Unilocal in the future now that I have an account). The place looks all nice and shiny, the treatment has been working because they have good machines (laser and not IPL), but service is extremely sub par. I have been for maybe 4 – 5 appointments now as I bought a one year deal and need to use it up. Receptionist has always been fine, unlike the complaints here. However, the technicians never explain to you anything about the treatment (what it will feel like, how to treat it before/​after, risks, etc.) and I feel this should be done for everyone on their first visit. Fortunately, I have done laser before elsewhere (and had it explained) so I knew, but they did not know I have done it before. The other thing is that I have been burned on 2 occasions on some spots by one of the technicians (the other one is perfectly nice). Even though I twitch under the laser, she never asks how I am doing or if she should turn it down. and you don’t know if what is happening is normal or not since they don’t explain a thing (and also, laser treatment always feels uncomfortable to some degree so you think it is normal). When I got home, I see marks and realize I was burned on my skin! That is unacceptable. In addition, I had a horrible visit a few months ago when I sat and waited for over 30 minutes, and no one said anything to me, not even an apology or explanation. There was even a women who came after me and she went in right away, even though I was there for a long time. When I went up to ask about it, I was told that your appointment is arranged with a specific technician and mine was behind. However, you see a different technician each visit, so why does it matter on that specific day, especially when you see someone waiting there for that long! I was upset as I had arranged this visit during my lunch break (appointments normally take 30min tops — more like 15 min for 3 body parts) and would not have time for it. I think it was 45 minutes before they were even close to seeing me, but I had to leave and get back to work, and had to reschedule. The receptionist (who may have been a temp as I have never seen her there or seen her again) apologized. When the technician came out, she just brushed me off. Extremely rude. If this was my business, I would be apologizing profusely for having someone wait for 45 minutes, and perhaps offer some sort of discounted service or something like that. It’s not a doctor’s office but a pay-​for-​service spa! This is unacceptable. I would definitely not return but I already paid for all my sessions so that is the only reason I am returning until my sessions are done. The last time I went, the technician (same one that brushed me off) burned my skin. Nice one. There is one technician that is very nice (though she also doesn’t explain anything), but the other one is just very bad at good customer service. Avoid at all costs, even special deals! Not worth it.

Got this at a great price but I feel like it was just a BIG waste of time, the laser hurts like HELL (in the first room), after approx 5 treatments I had little to no results, and staff is not accommodating to clients :(
When you get there on time, there’s always at Least* a half-​hour+ wait… feels like ages.

The review should be 3.5 stars. I have actually had fairly pleasant experiences at Mint in comparison to the other posters. The receptionists have always been courteous when I’ve arrived and when I’ve departed.
I purchased a deal online and started with getting my full legs done. I eventually purchased another deal with them to get my full arms done as well.
The establishment is clean and looks professional. I book my appointments out 6 weeks in advance to ensure I can get as much service for the 1 year package. On occasion when I’ve had to cancel or rebook, they have actually been able to schedule me a new time within a week of my canceled session.
The progress: I’ve had some pretty great results in my legs. My arms seem to be coming along as well, although I started them later. However I feel that the effectiveness of each treatment really depends on the person administering the laser and how thorough they are. Some training could go a long way. If clients can’t see the same person, they should at least feel like they are getting the same thorough treatment each time the come in.
The technicians: I’ve seen about 5 technicians. 1 was extremely thorough in her treatment and I had the best results after seeing her, however she works at the bloor street location and had come in to cover for someone. The others the were not as thorough to varying degrees, but were always kind and professional. The first session I ever had was by a new technician who seemed like she did not have any training on this particular equipment and was flying by the seat of her pants. As such, The settings were too low and I didn’t see much of a result from my session with her.
I’m in the same boat as others with the fact that I do not like being unable to see the same technician, or not even being able to book with the same person. However, I’ve been lucky enough to see the same person on 80% of my visits. The rooms could be warmer, especially when doing larger body areas. They provide towels to cover up if necessary but those are barely hand towels
Overall, I’ve had a pretty good experience. Some tweaks to their service — is. Training, warmer rooms, booking with a particular technician could go a long way with clients.

I bought a promotional package from inside the store rather than online. At first they tried to tell me that there was no promotion but I told them I found it online and was finally given the promo price. The receptionist was HORRID!!! She was rude and clearly doesn’t know that part of her job requires her to be professional and POLITE. She acted like some type of movie star receptionist as if she had better things to do!
I had a very good first session with a very polite and professional technician however I had a different much worse experience for my second and third visit. On my second visit I got burned by the technician in a few different spots and on my third visit the technician really really pushed buying more packages to the point that I felt very uncomfortable. Throughout the entire session she kept pushing me to get my underarms done even though I told her that I have already got them done and am continuing on somewhere else to touch them up. She continued to say that the winter promo would end and they would no longer offer the promo price even though I said NO already. She then said I should get my entire body done even though I have already had most of my body lasered and I had told her that.
Upon leaving, the technician waved me into another room saying that the manager said that if I wanted my entire body done that I could pay the cheap price of $ 1200 but only if I paid in cash and paid on the spot that day. I said NO in a variety of different ways.
I can’t stress how uncomfortable this was for me.
Seems that they must really be hurting.
Get your laser done somewhere else!!!

I bought 6 laser hair removal sessions on a small area for about $ 300. I’m finished the treatments and I have absolutely no results. What a waste of money.
I’m wary of their «no pain laser». I had 4 sessions on a normal laser at Gina’s Salon & Spa in Waterloo and had amazing results. It hurt but it was worth it.

I went back for my second appointment and had the pleasure to see the delightful receptionist (brunette with long hair extensions always holding her sparkly iPhone) who claim to be the owner, and claim that it is HER clinic (?)…
Well…she needs to learn about professional etiquette, and that’s the least I can say.
The unique lonely star rating is for the really sweet technician who did the procedure. She was professional, friendly and very efficient.
Once the treatment was done, I go back to the front desk to ask the brunette receptionist for some change to give a tip to the technician. She refuses point blank. I am speechless.
Then she mumbles something about scheduling my next appointment with all the courteous manners that she’s capable of… throwing me some dates here and there in a confused way… I ask for a calendar and again: A very lovely NO!
I am getting slightly annoyed but, again, the receptionist goes off and asks me if I’m one of those who wrote a review about her? At this point I have to admit, I find her amusing.
In the meantime, the technician is speechless (obviously bullied by the B receptionist) and the receptionist yells at me to get out of HER clinic and that I won’t get any other appointments or anymore treatments in HER clinic.
I have to say, she is not amusing me at this point and I state that she would have to refund me for the unlimited year service I paid for. At this point brunette receptionist’s face gets twisted and she says No WAY, then I hear: GET OFF MY PROPERTY. Her property (?)
Brunette receptionist gets hysteric, technician is terrorized, brunette receptionist calls the cops (??)
Luckily for me, two stud police officers show up. Brunette receptionist embarrasses herself again… Police officers ask her to refund me. She agrees to do so.
Well, think no more… I can easily make a diagnosis on brunette receptionist…
