One Million Comix & Next Move Games

They had good customer service but I didn’t agree with their return policy. We ordered online and were excited to pick up some Funko pops that we were looking for but unfortunately the boxes were damaged. When we asked to have a refund they said that they don’t do refunds and only store credit. My advice is that if you are particular about the condition of the packaging that you do not order online and only pickup at the store.
The person we dealt with was nice and accommodating. I just wished that the there was more care in selecting our order and the return policy was more clearly shown at the time of checkout on the online website.
With that said it looked like it was a good environment for regulars. The store was a tight with all the tables going and shoppers purousing. Having a bulky jacket or bags is not advised.

Easily one of the most expensive comic shops in Toronto. Toys, comics and merch is so overpriced.
I really hate when a comic has been on the shelf for 2 weeks and is now jacked up to ebay rates.

The many times have I walked along Yonge street down from Bloor to College, I never noticed this store. It was actually my first time visiting 1M Comix as my friend recommended looking here for Funko Pop! figures.
I’ve always had the Thor Pop! figure and wanted to get a matching Loki. Back during the past boxing week, I was planning to get the Golden Helmet Loki from Future Shop via RBC redemption points. Eventually I used it on a pair of headphones instead.
Two months later (recently), I got back on my wish list in search of that Loki. I searched everywhere and it was nowhere to be found. The only remaining types was a zombie Loki or a metal-​black Loki. I was also very hesitant to bid it off eBay for double the price + shipping. It was too expensive for a vinyl toy. I thought all hopes were gone…
For any lucky reason, all the stores restocked on it lately! I was killing time and walked in 1M Comix simply to check it out before dropping by 401 since they added a large Funko Pop! selection too.
My eyes flashed! I found both that specific Loki and the Dancing Groot both at Comix — super happy was I not! :D However, it was priced each at $ 14.95 (around $ 2 – 3 more than normal). I asked and they said it was hard to find and limited in stock. Without question, I bought both straight up.
Regardless, I still went to 401 that was literally across the street from 1M Comix. Turns out they also stocked back up on both figures and was priced only for $ 11.95! Deep regret inside me. so I decided to head back to 1M Comix.
I asked if they do a refund, he said they only offer exchanges or switches. But when I explained how 401 sold it cheaper by $ 3, he actually calculated out the difference to pay me back in cash — no questions asked! Isn’t that awesome and great service or what?!
For this type of service, it does deserve a good rating for doing something outside of their own policy for better customer satisfaction :)
Aside from that, their store mainly sells comics and comic merchandise. They have a large shelf of Funko Pop! as well as other collectibles. They also have a small counter for Magic The Gathering cards — with singles and packs too.
Not much store décor but they have all the content you need!

I used to go to 1 000 000 Comix way back at their old location, where I would always pick up my comics and had a membership as well. They had a good location back then and it seemed a lot larger than where they are now on Yonge street. Their selection of comics is great, and it seems like they have shifted their stock towards comics and apparel, over toys and board games.
I have purchased a few things here and there, but I’m primarily a toy collector and their stock of action figures and collectibles is limited. They have the occasional GI Joe and Transformer, but they are a bit overpriced compared to their competitors over at 401 Games and Silver Snail.
I can’t comment too much on the staff, as our conversations have been limited to «no we don’t carry that» for the most part, but there are always a bunch of employees there to help you out. Overall a decent comic shop for the area, but I can’t say I’m a regular due to their limited stock of collectibles and toys.

I’m a Ryerson student and I used to go to Silver Snail for all my comic needs since it’s a thirty second walk from campus. Since last year, I’ve been making the short trek to One Million instead. I’ve only had good experiences with them. The fact that a lifetime membership gets you 20% off is one of the best perks of this place, along with their good organization of the new comics and their pull list system. They’ve always been great with helping me find what I need if I’m looking for a specific issue and they go out of their way to help you out. I haven’t bought any clothing yet, but they’ve also got a big selection of shirts and sweaters. The staff never makes me feel out of place (which I’ve felt at Silver Snail occasionally) and I look forward to coming in to get my new comics every week.

I’ve found this place almost 4years ago and I fell in love with it. A life time membership gives you discounts on what you buy. Its great since I buy comics ever Wednesday. They even hold onto your comics in shelfs which is great. Great options on comics, clothing, bored games, dvds, games and fan boy stuff. The staff is always willing to help you out and always talk to you. I couldn’t say anything better its a must stop for anyone collecting anything.

This place is bigger on the inside than on the outside. From the street you just see a tiny storefront, but once you go in the store just keeps going and going, with boxes and boxes of titles and huge walls of trade paperbacks. I’m going to go out on a limb and say the selection is better than the upstairs comic-​and-​skiffy shop at the Bloor Street BMV.
I can’t say much to the service, because I didn’t stay long. I came in, I went straight for the section I wanted and found what I was looking for, and bought it and left. The guys at the cash were friendly and said hi when I stepped in. That doesn’t always happen when you go to a comic shop you’ve never been to before. ;)
Okay, that’s a lie, I didn’t just come in and go out. I browsed for a bit. See… I’m new-​ish to Western comics. I’ve been a manga junkie for years and I’ve only just started seriously reading what’s available on this side of that particular pond. I went in looking for a particular title (anything based on Michael Moorcock’s «Elric» novels) and found it right beside something else that was very very tempting (Marvel’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s «Emma» — be still my heart) and barely escaped with anything left in my wallet.
The place is conducive to browsing, clean and well-​lit with good organization. I’ll definitely be back.

Comics, manga and collectibles. For comics they have considerable amount of selection and availabilty. For manga, I only saw a few of it, which is located at the entrance facing yonge street. Lastly, for collectibles, including action figures, they also have a few selection of it but it’s quite reasonable cause they are not mainly for that. For me the only one that caught my eyes within the collectibles they have is the G.I.JOEs

I’ve been shopping faithfully here for over 10 years, back when they were on the other side of Yonge Street. My boyfriend bought a lifetime membership almost 15 years ago, which is how I was introduced to the store. Their current location is a long, straight store divided roughly into 3 main sections: animé/​manga in the front, figures and collectibles in the middle, and comics and other books in the back.
The membership program gives you special discounts, but they have big sales throughout the year. Most times I come in manga are selling for the US cover price. They have a huge manga selection — larger than other comic shop in downtown Toronto. I’m not big comic book collector, but the one time I came in looking for something very specific (and moderately rare), I only had to describe it to Alex and he went and grabbed it out of the bin for me.
There is something to be said about the amazing staff that work here. I’ve stopped coming in as often as I used to since I don’t go downtown as often, but every time I pop by I’m always greeted, they ask how my boyfriend is (by name!) and they always know what I’m looking for, and make great recommendations. Alex, Kostas and Chris are awesome and honest guys and if there’s something I’m looking for that they don’t have, they’ll do whatever they can to order it in for me or try to accommodate me.
I had a problem with a figure that I bought here that was damaged (manufacturing defect). I took it back the following week, explained the defect and they said that they’d ship it back and let me know when more were back in stock as they were sold out at the moment. It took a couple of months before another shipment came, but they kept one in the basement waiting for me. Another time I wanted to buy a very expensive and rare collectible, but it was totally out of my budget. They let me set up a 3 month payment plan.
Awesome staff, great selection and fantastic customer service — what more can I say?

One of the best places in Toronto to buy comics, along with the Silver Snail-​and here’s why:
1) The best selection of action figures in the city, comparable with similar stores
2) A knowledgeable staff, that can get you what you want and then some (helps to get a pullbox and a membership first)
3) More manga and animé than a store has a right to have
4) Tons of older titles
5) Oh, and did I forget to mention their lifetime membership and pullbox for titles, complete with 20% off on titles?
All in all, five good reasons to go to this store.

Anthony and his brothers who run the shop are Top Notch guys and really care about customer service.
They take the time to remember you and make small talk about your purchases and shoot the sh! t with.
Admittedly, even though I haven’t went back in a while because of shifting priorities, these guys have been nothing but amazing to me when I was a regular customer there. I still go back once every so often to pick up some trade paperbacks.

I should issue the disclaimer that I did not come in this store looking for comic books, but I had a pleasant experience here for what I needed to get done so that is where my stars come from.
Basically I needed to do a news piece for school that was about villains in comics, and this store was the only one to return my calls and agree to be on camera. I had to ask a couple really awkward questions and they took them in stride and were super helpful and fun.
The store is really well organized and relatively clean, it’s usually nice and quiet even though it is on Yonge Street, and they are welcoming to everyone, even if you are not comic-​obsessed.
So while I never actually purchased comics from here, I will vouch that the staff are really helpful even if you know nothing about comics, to the point that I was almost convinced to buy some!

One Million Comix is my favourite comic book shop in Toronto. The shop is deceptively deep, having about three very long rooms on one single floor. The store features an amazing selection of manga and Japanese light novels, spanning the entire wall. It’s all very neatly organized by title and they have about every single series that has been released in North America. They also have a nice selection of animé, with a separate section for brand new releases.
There’s also a variety of collectable figures. It may not be quite as impressive as what Silver Snail has to offer, but you can find all of the popular stuff here as well as some more obscure figures. Everything is easy to find and they have a nice, large display case featuring various busts and other collectables. They also have various animé-​related merchandise such as figures, messenger bags, plush, keychains, etc.
Lastly, they have a very impressive selection of comics in the very back of the shop. The room is really long, with one wall displaying new issues (current releases in addition to 2 – 3 earlier issues) and the other wall acting as shelving for graphic novels. The middle of the room contains many bins of back issues that are fairly easy to browse through.
The employees are all very friendly and very helpful. This is the first time I’ve ever been able to go into a comic book shop in Toronto and actually have conversations with the people that work there! The owner (I think he’s the owner anyway) has been extremely helpful, having offered multiple times to place orders for me for everything from comics to harder to find figures. I don’t think I have to say how much of a big difference it makes when the employees are happy to see you. They all seem to know what they’re talking about too.
I should also note that they have a membership too. For one-​time fee of $ 20, you get a 20% discount on all merchandise in the store (with the exception of DVDs, which are tax-​free instead). All of the prices are US cover price too, so you get extra savings. The discount is really what made it for me; the prices were already reasonable but with the membership, I can get books cheaper than I could at Chapters/​Indigo with an iRewards card. There’s also a web site that lists all of their newest releases for DVDs, comics, manga, etc.
All-​in-​all, I’ve never had a bad experience here and it’s a great place to shop for animé/​manga fans and comic enthusiasts alike.
