P&H Salon and Spa

So happy I already found a salon in Toronto! I had the best cut and style here. Seriously probably the best in my life. Everything from the service to the shampoo and style was top notch. I will definitely be back.

I did laser hair removal at P&H and got completely disappointed. After more than a year of sessions every month — I ended up with no result whatsoever, my hair still grows just as it used to before the treatment. I literally wasted my money and time… Moreover, the staff wasn’t helpful at all. In the end I was told that «my hair is not the type that can be removed with laser» and «sorry they didn’t warn you in the beginning!». This was a lame excuse since I have very pale skin and dark thick hair — the best combination for laser removal. In fact, they told me during the first consultation that my skin/​hair type was perfect for the laser removal.
I guess, their laser equipment is not of high quality. Or they don’t know how to use it properly.
In conclusion, I wasted 1 year of my life, $ 1000 and suffered pain every month because of their useless treatment. Please don’t go to P&H for laser hair removal!!!

Unfortunately, I just got back from the hairdresser and looked in the mirror. I went in, asking for layers that would give shape but unfortunately got a straight cut without any shaping. The hairdresser tried to shape it up, while my hair was dry but she made it worse as not my hair is all over the place. She put curls into my hair to kind of hide the real cut so when I got home it looked even worse. The curls have basically disappeared from my walk home (10min) and it was straight!
I did not want to make a statement at the hair-​salon as it was crowded and I did not want to make a scene but I was not happy with my haircut.
Sadly, I need a haircut after a haircut I got this morning. I am sad and dislike leaving bad reviews, but I am really disappointed!!!
And it was $ 85! She was not even a senior stylist and worked there only for couple of months.

I had the best experience last week with Fabrizio. I was recommended to see him through a friend and was a bit nervous because I hadn’t had anything done to my hair in quite some time other than do-​it-​at-​home root touch ups for my black hair. I mentioned to him that I wanted something to give my hair some depth and dimension and make it look not so flat. He worked his magic and «painted» my hair to give it some ombré/​bayalage and the result was AMAZING. I could not be happier and have had so many compliments. I’ve already recommended him to 3 of my coworkers. Fabrizio is a hair genius!!!

I have been getting my hair done with Eric for the last few years now. Before that, ever since my previous stylist moved away from Toronto, I have been bouncing from salon to salon for years, never happy with any particular stylist, until I found Eric here. He is not the most senior stylist here. But he is very good, and knows how to do things just right. I am always impressed by how well he attends to my endless requests. Sometimes taking way more than the hour that we booked to do my hair exactly the way I want it. I highly recommend him.

I saw Fabrizio & LOVE what he did with my hair. From the moment I sat in Fabrizios chair I felt comfortable and in good hands.
Fab took my boring hair and made it gorgeous. I couldn’t be happier. I left P&H feeling beautiful. Go see Fab you won’t be disappointed.

Paolo, the very charming owner, contacted me after reading my review. He was very concerned that I wasn’t happy with my hair and begged me to let him fix it, free of charge. He didn’t seem at all concerned with the negative review, just that I wasn’t happy with my hair.
He just fixed it for me — tons of blonde highlights. I LOVE IT. I AM A BOMBSHELL.

I had a fantastic experience yesterday at this salon. I worked in the industry for years and my high expectations were met.
The stylist I saw, Eric, is so talented and an absolute pleasure to be around. He took the time to give me great results. I really respect a stylist who doesn’t cut corners and he stayed after closing to get my hair where I wanted it to be. He is kind, attentive and has a passion for the industry. If you are looking for a new stylist– he is your guy!
And I agree with other reviews– the cappuccino was delicious :)

love love love this salon!!! my stylist is dora. shes the absolute best. went for color and cut. not only did she really hear me and understand what i wanted but she also made sure that it would work best with my face shape and skin tone!!! when i left i felt 100% beautiful and confident

Been around, Paulo is superior. Look no further. Absolute gem and that’s why his salon ranks 5 stars. Girls go for Paulo if u want to dive straight into the best hands of Toronto.

Overall I really enjoyed my experience here. Fabio is a sweetheart and spends a lot of time on your hair (I was told it would be 2.5 hours in total and I ended up being there 3.5!!!). I went in for a colour highlights and cut — I LOVED my colour and highlights! Although he spent a ton of time on my cut, I felt it looked okay — just a more cleaned up version of what I already had. I have ALOt of hair and I think I heard that almost 50 times — I almost felt like I had to apologize for that! Hopefully next time I won’t hear that when I go back. I would definitely go back for a colour and highlights again.

I had read rave reviews about Jane and had/​have been looking for someone to do my lash tinting and eyebrow threading so I decided to give her a go. She did not disappoint — she did a fantastic job on my brows and I have never received a lash tint that was so thorough that didn’t sting.
I went back on a number of occasions for those same services and also facials. I never left disappointed but I always left late. Not once was I ever there and seen on time. In fact the last time I was there I arrived on time and the receptionist welcomed me with «Oh my GOD. You’re so early!» I asked if I had gotten my time wrong and he told me my appointment was for 1:30. The time was 1:29.
That day I was kept waiting for well over 30 minutes without any offer of apology or explanation. I ended up having to see someone else for the lash tint because Jane was running so late but she was available to do the threading… but again I had to wait for her.
Initially I was concerned about getting an appointment with Jane because that seemed to be a common concern in reviews I read. There was never a problem securing an appointment time but every single time I was left waiting — I can only assume they’ve taken care of the ‘getting an appointment with Jane problem’ by creating another problem in double booking her appointments.
Of all the times I was kept waiting I never received a courtesy call from the salon beforehand to let me know she was running behind. And once I arrived I was never checked on while waiting to let me know how much longer she would be or if I would like something to drink. It’s too bad because I like Jane and she does a great job for prices that are very reasonable for downtown Toronto. When I addressed the waiting issues with the front desk I was brushed off, asked if I would be leaving a tip and made to feel like they didn’t care. Sadly I won’t be back and I wouldn’t recommend them either.

Great first experience! The receptionist was quick to respond to my voicemail and set up an appointment the same day-​perfect for my lunch hour. Eric, my stylist, did a fantastic job. He listened to my preferences and took my hair texture (thick and wavy) into account when choosing a cut. He also asked me before cutting off too much and gave his honest opinion.
I would definitely recommend Eric to anyone in need of a new stylist or just a new cut.

I’ve been having laser hair removal done here. I bought a great deal from them — a year of unlimited treatments on a specific large area for $ 189 before taxes and gratuities. This was a good deal compared to the competitors. I’m actually pleasantly impressed by this place — it’s a salon, yes, so the staff on laser is a little less knowledgeable. But, they are very friendly and down to earth (especially in contrast to the other place I have laser done). Also, you don’t get the feeling they are trying to price gouge you or force tips out of you (unless you want to). Kristen does my treatments. She is very easy to book appointments with and extremely sweet and friendly. She uses a Soprano XL laser which is not very painful and suits most hair/​skin types.
I would warn you to do your own research on laser hair removal if you are going to go to a facility that is not medical. After doing my own research, I feel pretty comfortable here at P+H and I would buy more laser treatments from them after these are done. I will update in a few months when I am closer to the end of my treatment.

Had a haircut there recently and LOVED IT! I’ve been to many place in Toronto and GTA and I’m pretty picky and skeptical when it comes to getting my haircut. Even a small trim! Eric cut my hair and did an amazing job. I’m in love with my hair. He really knew what he was doing!
The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. Took my jacket and escorted me where to go.
I will say they need to change their music. It’s outdated, slow and boring. It would have also been nice if someone offered a tea or something.
I didn’t think my cut was expensive since he did an outstanding job! I paid about $ 75.
I booked in for a colour for my next visit since I loved it so much! I FINALLY found a stylist that I will stay with. Which has never really happened before

Best hair cut I have had in a long time. The owner cut my hair and it was amazing. The colour was done amazing. Pretty simple to do black but I like it super black and they did a great job. Will be returning for sure!

I had a Groupon for a cut & colour and the stylist I got was Ashley. She did a great job with my hair colour and made sure to check up on it every now and then. The hair cut was not too bad (though I felt there was room to make the layers a bit more flattering for my face shape).

I just moved to TO and needed a new salon. They had a groupon so I decided to give them a shot.
The groupon did not provide the service it said it would, and I was only told once I was in the seat. Their definition of straightening is apparently a keratin straightening treatment that they claim keeps your hair straight for 4 months, but actually only smooths frizz and you still need to straighten everyday. Blatant deception.
They charged me 80 dollars for a dry hair cut (do people even do that?).
The hairstylist was nice, but I wasnt happy with the cut or the treatment. She spent the whole time checking her cellphone to ensure she had a ride home, which made me feel rushed.
I called to complain and got put on hold for more than 10 mins twice (at which point I hung up) and then I wrote a politie email indicating my concerns and hoping we could work something out. They never bothered to respond.
The section of the salon I saw was also noticeable dusty, so I am not sure what their cleaning routine is…
If you value your hair– go anywhere else.

I have been going to Hannah for facials, waxing, etc for years, and of course when she opened P&H, I naturally moved with her. She is the best. I don’t trust anybody else with my eyebrows. Being an asian, I don’t have too much hair, and it’s very hard to create a nice shape for my brow. Once Hannah started doing my eyebrows, people kept on complimenting me. She also does the fastest and least painful waxing. I have also gotten organic facial peels, eyelash extensions and massages from her. She is just simply the best.

I have been going to P&H Salon and Spa for a few months now after following my hairdresser Fay from her previous place of employment.
First of all, let’s talk about Fay. She is the greatest. I have never been to a hairdresser who works harder or understands hair as well as she does. I have naturally curly hair, and she always cuts it perfectly. Even in the scary Toronto humidity I am always able to go home and achieve my desired look all on my own (no easy feat, I assure you). She always has great ideas for colour and style, and is really personable and easy to get along with. I’m always impressed how she always manages to remember specific details about my life, even if I’ve waited a little too long between visits. She was the one who convinced me to go with bangs and red hair, and I have never looked back.
The spa itself is really well-​laid out. All the loud and rambunctious hairdressing services are located near the front of the salon and all the other spa services are separated in the back, so don’t let the noise level deter you when you walk in. While I’ve only been there for my hair, the whole place is immaculate, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book them for future aesthetic needs. The assistant hairdressers also give the very best head massages during the shampoo portion of your service. I’ve never been that relaxed in one of those awkward shampoo chairs.
The receptionists are really great, and always offer to hang up your coat when you arrive. On more than one occasion, the receptionist has worked really hard to fit me into the schedule when I call for a last-​minute appointment. They also offer coffee/​tea/​water when you arrive and are waiting, which goes above and beyond what I expect out of my salon experience.
My only heistation to recommend this place is that I want it to be available for me any time I want my hair done, and I worry about it (and Fay) getting too busy to see me!
