Firstly, this is «no frills» in every sense. Don’t expect manners here from ANYONE. Produce — fresh(not much of a variety). Good selection of imported yoghurts/cheese from the U.S. Other than that. BLAH. Very aggravating place to shop.

I do my shopping here every week and I am pretty satisfied comparing it to other No Frills locations. I like that there is lots of parking, sale items are most times stocked, lots of cashiers, items scan correct, and it overall seems very organized.

This store, Including Pat K., the Owner BOTHNEEDMAJORIMPROVEMENTS! I filed a very serious complaint back on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 when I had shopped their Pat’s No Frills Bathurst Street and Wilson Avenue store on Tuesday, June 8, 2014 for my 83 year old mother, Mrs. Helene S.(who is suffering from a Prolapsed Bladder and Heart Condition at her age) and I personally had a VERYBADEXPERIENCE and ENCOUNTER! I bought three packages of Man Delicious Wafers and all three packages were of the same type of brand, product, size, etc. Not only that, but the price for two of them was the same being only $ 1.00, however, the third package was Illegally and Fraudulently OVERPRICED by .50 cents more. I did let the cashier know that and SHEREFUSEDTOMODIFYTHEPRICE, even though I was right! She then asked somebody to verify the price which was a COMPLETEWASTEOFTIME because I already know what the price said and whoever put up the PRICESIGN for that product obviously made a very BIGMISTAKE! However, their STUPID, FEMALECASHIERREFUSEDTODOANYTHINGABOUTIT and so I just paid for the groceries and left! However, I did NOT let my complaint go to waste! I did inform their corporate office about it so that they can inform the store, owner, Mr. Pat K about the situation and I also Made Out A Very Special REQUEST to Have MYBILLADJUSTED for the .50 cents, plus the G.S.T. taxes that come with it. I also wanted them to please have somebody FIXTHATSIGN for the WAFERS because it is NOT correct! I also infomed them, via email that if they are NOT going to adjust my bill for the appropriate amount as required, then I will have NO other option, but to contact MYCREDITCARDCOMPANY and DISPUTETHEWHOLEBILL just for the .50 cents! In my complaint, I also provided them with some vital information that I was able to find from the three wafer packages for their reference. Man Delicious Wafers With Coffee Net Wt. 200g 7 oz Upc Code: 023872002026 01÷01÷16 Man Delicious Wafers With Vanilla Flavor Net Wt. 200g 7 oz Upc Code: 7290000311234 12÷30÷16 Man Delicious Wafers With Lemon Flavor Net Wt. 200g 7 oz Upc Code: 023872002019 12÷22÷14 From The Receipt, I also found the following information as well for their reference: nofrills 270 Wilson Avenue North York, ON Store 1330 Term Z0133011C Slip # 323000 Reg 11 Ref # 36001001124 Auth # 8632 Resp 001 ISO00 Date 07/08/2014 Time 21:19:41 Amount $ 53.74 After contacting them, the only thing that their corporate office did for me was offer my mother a louzy $ 10.00 gift card for her troubles. However, the owner of the store, Mr. Pat K., did call me up today, however, he was a VERYSELFISHANDMEANPERSON who offered my mother NOTHING for her problems and LIED to me stating that the wafers should have been $ 1.50 instead of $ 1.00 which I truthfully find hard to believe. When I told him that I could find a similar product at the Dollartree stores, his response was«No Response»! Lastly, this Very Selfish Man assumed that my mother was being taken care of properly in which I tend to disagree because the man still did NOT offer to adjust my credit card bill for the overcharge of the .50 cents for the wafers. Mr. Pat. K., the owner also got offensive when I complained about his store and his Stupid Cashier whom I mentioned in my original complaint letter and told ME that he did Not appreciate ME Telling The Truth by calling her Stupid! Ha ha ha. Well, I told her that She Is Stupid and then I Hung Up On Her! I am so glad that I do NOT live here because I would be embarassed to shop at a store like that and I can NOW understand and see Why there are so many NEGATIVEREVIEWSANDCOMMENTS on this particular store location. I will tell my mother to shop elsewhere for now on. Thank you Pat K. for Nothing! ps: by the way, Pat K., your in-store hours sign is Wrong! you need to Update your sign! PS: ONE more added thing: Today, on Monday, July 21st, 2014 when I called up their phone number of: 416−636−9666 at 8:35AM this morning, a Very Rude Man answered the phone when I asked him What is their address? His response was«Why do I need to know»? What kind of an answer is that anyway? Get Real? I know that was Pat. K., the owner who answered the phone because it was the Same Man who called my mother’s home just a few short weeks ago and Mistreated ME over the phone. This A… E has NO Customer Service Class, Nor Etiquette at all and does Not Deserve To Be Running A No Frills Business!

Maybe they ready my review and decided to do some major renovations? I bump this place up one star for being way cleaner, putting produce, bread and meat in one side of the store and for having a whole gluten-free freezer section. I can eat gluten, but I thought that was a nice touch. The checkout is still problematic but better if you stay out of the express lanes. It’s still super hard to find an empty basket, but now they have smaller carts that are roughly the size of 2 – 3 baskets. Parking and getting out is still a nightmare, especially around noon when it’s particularly busy.

Hmmm how to describe this location… Dirty, dingy, unfriendly, unhelpful lots of empty shelves, produce just days from turning bad. Cheap groceries are always a quest, but far better to trek up to Fresh Co at Steeles or Eglinton and Caledonia.

I think I wold come here any day, over the crowded Metro a few blocks north on Sheppard. Come here early enough, and you’ll find tons of fresh produce, but near closing, only the ragged ones are left over. They carry almost anything you need including select asian flavours and what not, but the variety is not a lot. If you’re looking for specialty items, look elsewhere. But, they do carry a lot of Gluten Free items, more and more I’ve noticed. Look for them in a special section in one of the aisles. What’s also special about this location is the very large Kosher section. It’s it’s own store in itself! What I like about Kosher sections is that very often you will be able to find Wheat Free /Gluten Free /All Natural items in here, so don’t be afraid to look, just be careful not to pay a premium on it. Remember to bring a 25c for the cart and careful not to hit anyone driving out.

With the alternative being the one on Avenue road, this No Frills is pretty good as far as selection is concerned. I found everything I was looking for. They even carry a good choice of gluten free products. There is a massive kosher foods section which takes up at least a couple of aisles. It loses points for cleanliness however. And I guess shopping baskets are a «frill», because it’s hard to find one when you need one.
