Business Owner

My name is Pavel. I am a Toronto wedding photographer and filmmaker.

My style can either be described as documentary or photojournalistic wedding photography, which basically involves capturing the key storytelling moments of the day as they play out. As the photographer, I make every effort to be as unobtrusive as possible, which means subjects are not prompted to pose unless a request is made to do so. The reason for this is quite simple: I want couples to enjoy and experience their wedding day as it naturally unfolds, not as gussied-​up mannequins going through the motions. Why waste those precious few hours trying to fulfill someone else’s editorial vision? What I aim to capture is the vulnerability in a bride’s eyes when she walks down the aisle, followed by the complex baggage of history, love, and tradition. That’s why I discourage direction: I want to evoke memories with a purpose beyond the thank-​you card.
