Prohibition Pop Up

Black Friday seems like an appropriate time to review what was one of my best ever shopping experiences in Canada.
Prohibition is a pop up shop by the wonderful folks behind El Mocambo and P&L. The concept is simple: quality, high-​end garments at an affordable price. 80% off Italian Denim not a good enough deal? you can arm wrestle a staff member to get an additional discount (you also have the option of singing for a discount, but I think that would have added significantly to my bill)!
During my visit I noticed some unique finds as well as items from heavy hitters such as John Varvatos and the Nice Collective. The overall feel is very much in sync with the NYC Rock n Roll chic style, but the prices are much more realistic for people meant to wear the items! While on the topic of rock n roll, one of the staff members we met is a fantastic musician and even toured with GnR. This is pretty much as fresh as it gets in Toronto.
Overall, it’s hard to think of a better place to find some great gifts for the holiday season.
