Not the friendliest place. Came here after the hockey game to get a drink and it feels like we were bothering the staff there. It’s a shame, such a good location but so unwelcoming. No wonder the Starbucks accoss the street is WAY busier.

This was a good place to grab café au laits in the morning while i was here on vacation. simple, fast, effective. It’s a chain so there’s not much to note here.

Just popped in to warm up and grab something hot to drink. Wifi — yay! No washrooms — boo! :(

Nice location. It’s this or Tim Hortons. Great place to nip into during a cold winter day down at the lake when tourists aren’t around. Seems there’s no washroom?

Very nice staff, and free wifi — although it seemed to be working pretty patchily when I went.

Very nice staff! A bit expensive but mostly everything at second cup is so good anyways… so you’re kinda drawn in. Whenever I’m in the Harbourfront area again, I’ll stop by and have a latté or chillatté(my newest discovery) and just sit on the patio while I enjoy the free wifi. Oh and I think I’m in love with their rocky road brownies. So I’ll probably enjoy one of those as well.

Great spot by the water. Best during the warmer months as the indoor seating is limited, but they have a great patio.

Amazing sandwiches, a bit pricey but worth it for the view and atmosphere.

Well, it’s a Second Cup… so there is that… They charge a lot for soy milk and are a coffee chain, so yea. But, if you are going to go to a Second Cup, this is definitely the one I would choose. It overlooks the lake, which is lovely whatever the weather outside. It’s a nice place to meet a friend and sit for a coffee before a skate or walk at harbourfront. The chairs are comfortable and there are two armchairs. there’s a bathroom for customers.

A view of Lake Ontario? Cute? Outdoor lakefront sitting? Surfing the internet with Free Wifi? Even though the coffee at this Second Cup location is not the best, at least it’s awesome view and location makes up for that! Of course, there is always Starbucks across the street… if you want to use the washroom!

While I’m not a fan of SC this place is unique. The coffee is average and the baked goods aren’t all that stale. What makes this place special is the location. Where else in the city can you people watch with coverage of the lake and one of the busiest pedestrian/bicycle/roller-blade avenues in the entire city? I enjoy this spot for small business meetings because it’s very easy to access from transit.(2 stops away from Union on the 511 or 509) And it’s quiet enough small tables free(at mid-day) to make your appointment go quickly. The only bad thing for business purposes: the parking situation is grim. The closest pay lot is close but it’s $ 15.(Blergh!) Summary: Coffee — average, food — ok, parking boooo-urns! view — fantastic.

good place, just look at the pictures it pretty much describes the location. I had a run in with some racist japs here so I’ll always be a little bit paranoid but other than that one bad experience its been ok here. I’ve usually gotten a seat, although the place really is not that big inside. basically a small, nice second cup right by the water. I appreciate it being here. I wish it didn’t close so early though.

Now this is not the place where you walk in an expect to grab a latte and quietly read a book. There’s always a line up here. In terms of location though, I think its perfect. Whether you just want to grab a coffee and walk around Harbourfront or if you want to sit out in their patio, which is the best part about this Second Cup.

As ‘scups go this place is a few ticks better than most. It’s tucked into a fat, sky-blue cabin-esque structure on Queen Quay. The café is actually quite stunning: it’s tall and airy, has a floor-to-ceiling water-facing window(that opens to unleash a biting lake breeze), cozy club chairs and a fireplace. They also have some unnecessary additions like a rumbustious older gentleman wearing a sharp red blazer who doesn’t know how to order coffee and Rick Astley blaring over the speakers. But I’m sure these were particular to my visit. At least I hope so. Obligatory Title Pun: «Gimme a SECOND will ya?» — Red Blazer Man Menu Readability: I dunno. Coffee? Need to mention: THEREARENOWASHROOMSHERE. In a place that hawks bran products and coffee, this is both dangerous and irresponsible. What this place teaches me about myself: No washrooms? Am I supposed to just jump in the lake? Oh, I am.

This Second Cup may have to compete with the Starbucks across the street, but they will always have the advantage of the fantastic location. As mentioned already, it is right on the water with huge floor to ceiling windows to admire the view. The patio is lovely in the summer, particularly on weekdays when there are less tourists. In the winter, try not to sit right by the window as it can get really cold. The indoor seating area is small, but huge leather chairs and a fireplace make it cozy. There are back issues of Conde Nast Traveller that are fun to flip through too. By far my favourite Second Cup location in the city.

This place is located across the street from where I used to live in Toronto. Right on the Harbourfront, this location is ideal in the summer. I used to spend hours sitting on the patio, overlooking the lake and watching boats dock and ships sail. The service is alright although it is not as efficient as I would like, and the inside of this place does not have air conditioning so during the warmer times of year, you’ll melt if you choose to sit inside. It is rather small, but that gives it an intimate appeal. Patrons are friendly and approachable; Drinks and fare are of your standard Second Cup standard. What truly sets this place apart is its location. Beautiful patio, beautiful positioning. You can’t go wrong, but get there early because when it starts to warm up, everyone will have the same idea.

You know, the more and more I come back here, the more I love it. I still don’t fancy the drinks all that much, but the location makes me do the happy dance. Even in the winter.
