Furniture store located in the Castlefield home design district. They have some really nice stuff at(comparatively) reasonable prices. We bought a bed that was delivered the following day. Quick, easy, no hassle. The bed is beautiful except one of the slats cracked the first night we had the bed. Granted we didn’t have a box spring only the mattress on the bed but we were told that would be sufficient. So I would categorize it as decent quality. For the most part the staff were knowledgable and friendly. The one thing that turned me off was a bad experience with a rather hard sales pitch. I’m not into the used car salesman like tactics when buying furniture. I may return sometime but will be selective in which sales associates I talk to.

Our biggest problem with shelter is that they were completely deceptive. We never would have purchased their furniture if they had given us an accurate timeline which is a fact they are probably well aware of. We bought a couch and dining table for 8 thousand combined, a good bit of money. We had moved into a new house and had zero furniture so when we found out that our table would be delivered in no later than 2 weeks probably a week, and our custom couch would only take 8 weeks we were thrilled. The day after we made the purchase(in cash regrettably) we were called and told the pieces might take a little longer but not much. Then weeks later we were told hmmm it could actually be more like six months, we were livid. Bottom line is both items did not arrive at our home for 13 weeks and then the table was the wrong colour. As I said the pieces were nice but pricey and not nice enough to wait on them for 13 weeks

So here’s what happened. I took the two chairs back to the warehouse. They had two sitting there waiting for me. Ominously, there were two more of the same ones sitting over the side, defective, apparently. One of the chairs they had for me was, upon closer inspection, also defective. The warehouse guy went and got two more… nope, both defective… then two more… nope, both defective… then two more… nope, both defective… then two more(I am not kidding)…and finally one of them was acceptable. We had a good laugh about that.
