Signature Tanning

So this salon is advertised as a very upscale trendy salon to add to the yorkville experience. The Good: great beds and tanning lotions. The owners have definitely shopped around for high quality tanning beds and lotions, also all their beds are new so the bulbs are very powerful. VERY CLEAN: the area, the shop design and the décor are very nice, they have definitely made an effort to standout. Additionally the rooms for individual tanning are very clean, towels, hair ties and candies are offered and the beds are also super clean. Knowledgable staff, The girl working on most days Ashley is amazing, she is smart tan certified and gives great feedback on your needs, and recommendations for lotions and tanning times. The rates: are actually very affordable, they allow you to pay for the minute or buy packages that are comparable to other salons, the exception is this one bed, the Beauty Angel with this special light which had other skin benefits. What needs improvement: Certain lotions are not allowed into the beds, only brands carried by the salon are and people HAVE to use lotion to tan which is strange because NO other salon does this however it is understandable that they want to keep their beds well maintained. The owner can be very pushy on trying to sell you more products and it seems as if she doesnt actually have complete accurate knowledge about all the products. As a seasoned tanner it really bothers me when someone tries to do that especially when what they’re saying about a product is not 100% accurate. Aslo when you already have your tannig lotion and after tan lotion it is kind of frustrating when someone stil wants to sell you more things… The salon is quite small in comparision to some other larger ones in the city, one standup, two lie down, one spray so make sure you call to make an appointment if you are in a rush or otherwise their will be long wait times. Overall, this is one of the best salons in the city in terms of quality of beds and lotions, also if you prefer walking into a clean luxury looking spa it is definitely worth it.
