British born international beauty expert Vaidehie Mistry has been a hands on aesthetician for 15 years.

Having worked in many different parts of England as well as Toronto Canada she carries a wealth of experience and knowledge that has opened up numerous opportunities.

Alongside working as an aesthetician she is also the Chief Skin Care contributor to Anokhi magazine. Anokhi has become North America’s longest running South East Asian fashion, lifestyle and entertainment magazine for affluent and fashionable South East Asian women ages 18 — 44. The magazine has also been a great passage for her to meet some great names out there such as Frieda Pinto and Shalini Vadhera, to name a few.

She is also a regular guest on CBC’s Steven and Chris Show and has made appearances on Rogers in Durham. Due to this some of her clients may be faces you may have seen regularly on TV!

For the ladies:
Sitamaa is a small spa located on the second floor of Manulife Center, and they’re advertised as a «Yorkville» spa.
I came here with a TeamBuy voucher for waxing and a Mani/pedi. The lady servicing me was Tas, and she was very nice but not very personable. I waited in the waxing room for around 10 minutes before she finally came in. I have to say, the waxing here is not the worst I’ve been to, but you can tell she was not properly trained because she only pulls off the strips in one direction (horizontally). During the whole thing, she kept trying to solicit how great IPL is and that I should do that instead of painful monthly waxes.
It wasn’t until I was finished, when she told me that she had been dipping the spatula back in the wax.
Me: «You know that double-dipping is a big hygienic nono, right.»
Tas: «What’s double-dipping? So you want me to use a new spatula every time?»
If it wasn’t because she was using a fresh tub, I would have flipped out. She claims to have been in her industry for over five years, but doesn’t know what’s double dipping. Seriously?
After the Brazilian, I chose my nail polish colors and sat there waiting for her for another ten minutes. Then, when she showed up, she couldn’t find the nail buffer, and disappeared for another five minutes. When we finally got started, I noticed that she wasn’t very thorough, and did not use a toe separator till I requested she put tissues or something.
The manicure was also quite unpleasant. There’s no TV or anything to look at, and Tas was chatting/laughing with the receptionist the whole time about a different customer. She skipped a lot of steps during the manicure (ie. no water bowl was provided to soak my nails, cuticles weren’t taken care of) and indicated that’s how she’s been doing manicures for the last five years.
Even if they lowered their regular prices, I probably won’t be back.

This place is not large and elaborate, but they are good at what they do.
I received a facial, that had a heavenly neck and hand massage included.
My pedicure was spot on– and my nail technician made sure every nail and every line of my french pedi was perfect.
I will be going back to try their eyebrow threading.

I have gotten manicures and pedicures here and have nothing but good things to say. SITAMAA is an Aveda concept salon/spa so the products used for mani/pedi are Aveda (which is a plus for me). The owner has a definite ‘presence’ and is so friendly and responsive.
The services I have received here are stellar. Amanda usually works with me and she is excellent and detail oriented. My nails/feet always look amazing after she is done!
SITAMAA also has a great website-which I recommend that you check out because of their monthly promotions. I am considering booking a body wrap next.
Prices are standard for Bloor/Yonge-Yorkville area, but the service is worth it!

I bought a coupon from Groupon for 6 IPL sessions, which is what enticed me here. I’ve only had 2 sessions so far, but I think I’ve seen enough to give an informed opinion!
Before buying the coupon I did some research on what exactly IPL was, so I knew that the sessions would be approximately 6 – 8 weeks apart. On my first visit, the technician was very pleasant and easy to talk to. She explained everything she was doing and how the whole process would work. She also tested my pain level to ensure that she was a) not hurting me, and b) providing me the most effective service possible. After the first visit, I did notice a big difference. On my second visit, I had a very similar experience. She was professional and friendly, and very quick too! I appreciated that as I was on my way to meet people afterwards.
All in all, although I can’t compare to other salons because this is the first time I’ve tried something like this, and I’m not much of a spa girl, I found SITAMAA very professional, warm and friendly. The girls I saw getting pedicures looked like they were getting some serious pampering! Anyone who likes going to the spa or getting spa services should definitely give SITAMAA a chance.
