Description

Specialties

We specialize in healing and improving your health, well-being and quality of life.

We offer Community Acupuncture 6 days a week.

What is Community Acupuncture?

Community Acupuncture is acupuncture in a big room with other people. The room is calm, your intake is confidential, and the recliners are comfy.

Acupuncture is one of the most widely used therapies in the world. It is a safe and effective treatment and prevention for many illnesses. It’s also a powerful tool to promote health and generate self-awareness.

Treating people in one room together allows practioners to see more than one person at a time, allowing for a sliding scale fee and enhancing the treatments by working with collective Qi.

We also offer private treatments in the following areas:

Shiatsu

Acupuncture

Chinese Herbs

Eastern Nutrition

Rolfing Structural Integration

Somatics

Massage (RMT)

Spiritual Healing

Art Therapy

Counselling

Psychotherapy

And we offer classes or courses in:

Yoga

Kung Fu

Chi Gong

Mindfulness Meditation

Workshops covering various Health topics

Six Degrees is an integrative Health Hub serving a diverse array of people and communities. Coming into our space is like walking into an Oasis in the city. People feel peaceful as they pass through the door, they settle in and relax into knowing each practitioner is qualified, certified, and attuned to your specific whole-health needs.

History

Established in 2007.

Six Degrees was started by Susanda Yee and Matt Sedo. We have grown from a two-room clinic into a health centre complete with three private treatment rooms, a community healing space and an intimate movement studio.

As of 2009, Six Degrees has been co-owned by Susanda Yee and Lamia Gibson, and we are proud to share space with 25 other practitioners.

We are driven by community, justice, joy and health. We believe everyone deserves good health and we have learned from the models set forth by Working Class Acupuncture and from the good folks who developed NADA (an application of ear acupuncture used successfully to deal with substance use, trauma and stress).

Susanda Yee

«I love to relieve pain and correct structural imbalances (spinal, Qi, power).»

For the last 15 years I’ve helped individuals with a range of heath concerns as and acupuncturist and bodyworker. In addition to working with individuals, I have worked as a community health researcher to increase awareness and change in social health issues in Canada.

Lamia Gibson

«I love working with activists and helping them restore balance in their lives through food and movement — everyone deserves good health care!»

I have an anti-oppressive and mindful approach and encourage your wisdom to come forth on your healing path. With over 10 years experience I am confident we can improve your health and well-being using natural medicines known to be effective for over 3000 years.
