Snowdon pharmacy is great. I have found their prices slightly cheaper than the shoppers near by and I prefer to support small family owned businesses. Also their dispensing fee is low for medications. Its been convenient to have such a great little store so close to campus. I highly recommend them.

Friendly and helpful sales staff and pharmacists with prices comparable to the big box pharmacies. They gave me a 10% student discount which made the shopping experience all the better.

This is a great little pharmacy. The pharmacists and techs are super helpful, friendly and really know their stuff. They also have a really good selection of vitamins, snacks and some nice toiletries. I make a point of shopping here rather than Shoppers if I am in the area.

A great pharmacy for reasons other reviewers have said. Carry many hi-quality items that Shoppers may not. Mr Snowdon cured my wet feet problem in a half-sentence: use an anti-antiperspirant on your toes. Simple, down-to-earth advice. Also great hand-compounded hand cream

Snowdon Pharmacy is a family owned and operated business right beside UofT campus and Bloor Street off the St. George subway. The head pharmacist and owner James treats me like family. That means a lot to me. He and Jelena(Senior Pharmacist) are always on top of news in the industry, medical and prescription history and always inquire about your overall health. They make compounds from scratch if needed and also dispense medication and Rx for your beloved pets at 50% less than what your Veterinarian will charge you.(Learned that the hard way) Convenient hours and location and pharmacists who are current with industry findings. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. No other pharmacy can do what Snowdon Pharmacy does and in the way that they do it. Highly Recommend.

I’m not sure if one can have a ‘favourite’ pharmacy, but Snowdon is the closest thing for me. Snowdon is one of the few family run /older pharmacies left in a city run by corporations, and therefore you get a rather unique«neighbourhood pharmacist» feel that you would have a hard time finding elsewhere in Toronto. The consultations, customized meds, and very short wait times make Snowdon more than competitive when compared to the chains. In addition, U of T students benefit from the pharmacy’s ability to take care of the insurance claim for them, a bonus most other pharmacies don’t offer for student insurance.

James Snowdon est le pharmacien le plus sympa de la ville et plus d’être d’une très grande compétence. Il s’est entouré d’une excellent équipe qui sauront vous conseiller.

The first review was surprisingly negative towards a great local business that has guided me though some personal illnesses and has been doing this for Toronto since 1936. And by the way readers the candy has not been there since then. I’ve eaten their food and it’s fine, no need to freak out. The summery of products are mostly correct, although some big things were missed. For one they carry some organic skin care products that Shoppers down the street would never carry. And unlike the all of the skin care you’ll find there(I know I use to work as a Shoppers cosmetician for 4 years) these don’t have Parabens or SLS which are very harmful for your health. Ohh yeah and Snowdon Pharmacy is a real pharmacy so they do something that Shoppers wont, they compound specialty medicine. Like this awesome Ibuprofen gel I use for my sore muscles. And I’m told by one of their Pharmacists they also do pet medication compounding. Don’t pass this place up because you want to get something cheaper from a mega huge corporate store, when you can promote a local business. My opinion is if you’re into being healthy and experiencing a real pharmacy, then go to Snowdon Pharmacy. But if you want to buy life brand Liquid Advil and a magazine then go to Shoppers.

This place saved me from headaches when my boyfriend(now husband) lived on St George! The pharmacist here also signed some official documents for me when I needed the government to recognize me. So, I’m down with Snowdon. Right across the street from Bata Shoe Museum and so convenient! Oh yeah, they are also located in the Medical Arts Building, where my dentist and many other medical professions are. Stop by here on your way home to fill any prescriptions from your DDS.

If you’re in the area and are in quick need of some over the counter heartburn medicine or other OTC relief, this is one of the few spots within a five block radius at least where you can get them. But if it’s all the same to you, you’d might as well hit up the Shoppers’ a few blocks east — the prices here are reflective of it being such a tiny shop. One whole half of the store is dedicated to the pharmacy itself as well as over the counter remedies and a lot of items that seem to be related to elder care, like canes and reading glasses. The store also has a few U-of-T student pandering items, for example, instant bowls of mac and cheese and other quick carb eats. There is also a surprisingly large array of candies and grooming products. Overall though, it feels like there are as many candies on clearance that are about to go stale as regular priced, which to me says that they aren’t moving product as fast as they could be or think they will. Be careful about checking the expiry date on food items as you don’t want to get something that missed the clearance bin.
