Let’s start with: you get what you pay for. I bought a groupon for 3 Brazilian waxes for $ 25 and haven’t been disappointed considering that each wax only cost just over $ 8 plus tip. Yes, the space is small. Yes, it is upstairs from a hair salon — this is a metropolitan city, little businesses are sometimes in awkward spaces — deal with it, and otherwise don’t buy super-discounted services online. With all that nonsense aside: the aesthetician(an older lady) did a fine job of all my Brazilian waxes, including plucking. As for pain, it was no better and no worse than most other spas — and I’ve been to quite a few in the last five years. She kept up light conversation and when finished, she explained that there was baby oil and baby powder on a side table that I could feel free to use, if necessary, on my tender bits. My one and only disappointment was the double-dipping, hence the four stars instead of five. Overall, I would recommend SoHo spa if you’ve got a voucher to use. However, if you’re paying full-price for the services, you might want to try somewhere with a more enticing spa-like environment.

Went last night for a Brazillian after buying a Groupon for 25 $. All in all, I had a good experience. The staff was polite and the space was very clean. The room was tucked off to the side, so I was able to(and even encouraged) to yell and swear with each horribly painful pull. This was my first Brazillian, so I cannot compare it to anything, but my stars it hurt. The lady waxer(never got her name) laughed and told me I was very brave. I told her I hated her and that I would kill her. Maybe i was being a tad dramatic. Would I go back? Not for a Brazillian, but that is only because I will never do that to myself again. Ouch! All in all a good experience. Wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend, but I wouldn’t not recommend. Especially for a $ 25 waxing.

ZERO Stars. Horrible! Came here for a waxing job, and just to get it out of my system — I cannot believe that there are still places that DOUBLEDIP. It’s pretty common sense that double dipping is a big hygienic no-no. I was absolutely appalled and asked her to warm up a fresh tub of wax for me, and she assured me that she was only doing this because the current tub of wax is at it’s end. The aesthetician was an older woman who was extremely rude and unfriendly. She was impatient and nearly burned me — the wax was way too hot. Furthermore, she tears out the hair with no technique whatsoever(I agree with the other reviews) and seemed like she was in a rush the whole time, complaining that she’s fully booked till 8PM that day… Well, that’s what you get when you offer deals, otherwise hire some more staff. «Soho Spa» isn’t really a spa at all. They have no logo/sign outside their 660 Queen Street address. I was surprised to find that they merely rented a room upstairs of a hair salon, with no business relation to Soho. So, I had to walk over a pile of hair to find the narrow staircase that leads up to her so-called spa. I really gotta be careful with these spas featured on deal sites from now on. Lesson Learned!

Went there twice with my friend for their DF promotion. It is a VERY small space, so if you’re going with a friend, she’s getting her nails done while laying on the massage bed with her facial in, and you’re going to be staring at her from the pedicure chair. The ladies are very friendly and does quite a decent pedicure. During summers, they open up the balcony and does the mani/pedis looking out to the backyards of Queen west. As much as that sounds like an amazing summer experience, the winter experience is lack lusture. The manicure is not the 60-minute spa manicure they promoted but more a rush scrub/shape + polish change. I think that’s mainly the result of DF overwhelming these nice ladies by overselling their promotion against their original intention. I wouldn’t go for their facials. They don’t even have a steamer. Their«cleaning» didn’t even remove my make up nor mascara, so needless to say my face wasn’t exactly clean. Their services are very limited to traditional procedures; most spas have simply eclipsed their service menus with technological advancements we took for granted. Albeit this cold review, I have a feeling a full-price mani & pedi during the summer time WILL be worth it. You get what you pay for at the end of the day, especially for small businesses. Thus the 3-star.

I went there over the Xmas break to get a pedicure, manicure and facial. The older aesthetician who runs it is very personable and did a wonderful manicure. Unfortunately, she handed the manicure and facial to a younger aesthetician, who severely lacks people skills. She is very brusque. She used her nails to remove the nail polish from the sides and under the nails and it hurt. When I told her so, she started countering and arguing with me that she had never had a complaint in three years and talked back at me when I told reiterated it was hurting. She was rude. The experience was awful. When I paid, I told the older aesthetician I was not returning due to the younger girl’s bad attitude.
