Mike and his team are honest, do great quality work and are competitively priced. I trust him to do all my automotive work.

I had a small problem with the plastic cover underneath the engine, which got detached at one end and was hanging loose. Stopped at Mike’s service around lunch time, and even it was a small thing Mike took the car and fix it for only $ 20. It was a good experience. Recommending the service.

I’ve done over $ 1800 worth of work on my 2003 Acura at Starling over 3 visits. The 1^st visit many things were fixed such as wheel barrings and rear stabilizer links. After the 1^st visit, I still heard strange thumping sounds from my rear left tire. Brought it back and was told that there was no real problem and it’s just a loose muffler.
Now, a few months later the thumping sounds are worse, and I took it back to Mike and it turns out to be a deformity in the tires. Too bad Mike’s guys couldn’t pinpoint the problem the first time around. Mike’s a great guy, I wish their prices were cheaper, but what can you do. At $ 90/​hr for labor it can definitely add up. It’s been at least 6 months since I’ve done the repair, everything still works fine, thanks Mike!
So, in summary:
–1 star for the missed diagnosis and Canadian Tire-​like prices.
+4 stars for their great service level, for good location downtown.

Mike really is the greatest. This shop is a gem, excellent work, honest people, great value.

Are you ever hesitant to write a Unilocal review because you’re worried too many people will start going to a place and you’ll never be able to get an appointment? That’s kind of how I’m feeling about this review.
We’ve been taking our car to Mike for close to three years now, since we moved back to the city, and he has been great. I’ve never, ever had such a consistently positive relationship with a mechanic. Mike is trustworthy, he doesn’t push unnecessary stuff, he’s always telling us ways we can save money and he’s just a generally good, nice guy. If you’re looking for a fair mechanic that you can trust, I haven’t found better.
