Taste Garden

Full disclosure: I was pretty hammered after the Unilocal Elite event when we came for a midnight snack.
5 of us ordered the meal for 4 and still had food leftover. The cost came to $ 11 per person after tax and tip, not bad for stuffing yourself silly.
The food was pretty good, from what I can remember. What really stood out was the deep fried squid, which was perfectly crunchy, spicy and salty all at once. I couldn’t stop eating it, which wasn’t a problem since the dish consisted of a giant mound of them.
Speaking of giant mounds, we discussed at length the sexual nature of the name «Taste Garden». It sounds like a line of flavoured condoms.
The service was good and the bathrooms were pretty clean, considering this is in Chinatown.
The food isn’t quite as good as Rol San, but it’s a worthy competitor for the post-​boozeout food crowd. I’m sure I’ll stumble in again next time I’m drunk and in the area.
