Call us the Tinder of the tutoring universe, at TMG, we’re obsessed with finding your perfect tutor-​match. We specialize in math tutoring and science tutoring, as well as preparation for SAT, ACT and SSAT tests. Our tutors are familiar with the Ontario curriculum, love math and science, and know how to teach someone with your specific learning style. We sort of think of ourselves as math matchmakers — and we’re really good at it!

At The Math Guru, we don’t just help you get better grades — we inspire you to want to. Come chill out in a relaxed environment, have a cup of tea, and finally truly understand math and science on your own terms.

History

Established in 2007.

After failing math twice in high school (twice!), and finally stumbling upon a teacher who changed my life, perspective, and mathematical journey — I decided to take up teaching so that I too could change the lives of so many kids who have been discouraged and led astray by — well — not-​so-​good teachers! After completing my teacher training, I decided to take a break before starting life inside the classroom.

The Math Guru, formally known as The Math Doctor, started as a small tutoring service ~ an endeavor initially meant to fund my dream trip to India! After falling in love with the art of inspiration through education at the individual level — and well, falling in love with the magic of India — I pursued my Masters in Mathematics Education. Doctor transformed into Guru, Guru turned into Gurus, and the rest is history!

Today, The Math Guru is comprised of inspirational people who love to teach those in need of inspiration in a wide range of subject areas.
