If you are going here as a destination… don’t waste your time. Still shocked that the«view» has low tables vs high tops so it’s not possible to see anything if your sitting on the balcony. Also… possibly the worst… no, THE worst Moscow mule ever. I was handed a glass with vodka and wedge of lime and a bottle of ginger beer. 2 drinks…$ 40…which I had to make myself. If there are no mule copper mugs… I really think they should mention that. To me it’s like drinking champagne out of plastic, wine from a daiquiri glass, a martini from a rocks glass. Oh well…

If you decide to stand outside with your $ 20 glass of Pinot Noir, you will be able to see the view… Seated however, the balustrade is too high… As for that $ 20 glass of Pinot, you would think there would be a more refined sommelier’s palate picking the wines by the glass. Sadly that’s not the case. Mixed drinks are a better way to go. Bar food looks better than it tastes. Service is a mixed bag.

The view is fantastic, definitely arrive early in the evening to get an outside table with a view of the skyline. The inside is also very classy, which results in very dressy customers, you will feel under dressed here if you come in a tee and jeans. The food is decent to good, the drinks extensive if expensive. I will note that the service was very odd, curt, and bordering on rude. They clearly don’t want you to stay long, especially if you have a coveted table on the heated patio. I would come back, but would hope for warmer service next time.

Came here for a couple of drinks but didn’t order food. Amazing view of the city if you get the right table, otherwise don’t expect sweeping views. It’s a small place– nice and cozy. Excellent service.

twice during our stay at Park Hyatt. they struggle with flow and seating, but are quite cordial. more of a nightcap space for us, but the charcuterie platter hit the spot. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way again, but the views of Toronto are what make this space. and the fireplace =)

I give the rooftop lounge two thumbs down. Let me start by emphasizing that the place is teeny tiny. It sits maybe less than 50 people at a time. FORGET about randomly coming here with your friends on a weekday and sitting outside in the patio to enjoy the beautiful weather over drinks because it will be never happen. My friends and I are staying at the Hyatt and went up around 8pm for a few drinks. There were four of us so we asked the waiter how long the wait will be and he said 20 minutes. An hour later of nursing our drinks while sitting inside and seeing multiple parties of two get seated outside before us even thought we were there first, the waiter finally comes over and makes excuses about why it’s taking so long. We HAD to tell him that we noticed that six people had left and that’s when he went outside and finally got us a table in the shitty corner! Turns out the patio is L-SHAPED and we were at the crappy end near and exit with our backs to the view. It was so disappointing because we waited so long when we could have gone elsewhere but we tried to keep a positive attitude because we’re on vacation and the hotel is amazing. I’m giving the rooftop lounge one star because after sitting outside for 20 minutes waiting for a waiter to acknowledge our existence, no one ever came to serve us so we just got up and left. I told my husband not to even think about leaving a tip higher than 5%. One drink after an hour and a half of waiting is ridiculous!

Great view, great drinks, good food and(typically) great service. It’s very small and intimate so it’s perfect for a chill date night with a friend or significant other. Nothing bad to say– prices are a little high but I wouldn’t expect anything else from the quality of this place.

This is secretly one of the coolest spots in Toronto. It’s small, intimate, classy, and of course has that legendary view. There is a diverse menu, amazing bar, and a world class staff. It manages to be first class without all the pretentiousness that most places in this area and of this caliber possess. Yorkville tends to be a festering boil of pompous people and businesses, but this Roof Lounge manages to feel so comfortable. There is no better spot to drink and for a unique view of Toronto.

I would definitely rank this bar as one of my top 5 favourite bars in Toronto. This lounge easily beats the other hotel bars in Yorkville simply because of its view. Though it is only 18 floors up, the roof oversees the entire downtown Toronto skyline. The sunset nearly took my breath away. Sipping on red wine, enjoying the clement weather, hosting good company, feasting on the view– life does not get better than that. The drinks are good, but nothing particularly special. Given that this is a 5 star hotel bar, the price is a bit steep. Totally worth it though, in my honest opinion. The people who frequent this bar are of a slightly older demographic. No fear though, my fellow early 20s friends. As long as you dress well you should blend right in. Just putting it out there: this bar is definitely more suited for tête-à-têtes between couples/close friends, rather than hardcore partying with groups.

Extremely beautiful. Wish they had more options on the menu. For some odd reason, I thought the rooftop was a little bigger. I came during the daytime and it was nice, but in the night you’ll have a better view. Everyone was very friendly. I would go back.

This upscale bar hosts the best view of the Toronto skyline. It’s on the 18th floor of the 5-star Park Hyatt Hotel north of the University of Toronto campus, which means it’s in the high-end shopping district removed from the downtown area. Cocktails range from $ 18 – 22 and most guests are dressed to the 9’s. My friends and I felt underdressed in our jeans and khaki’s but were so relieved to find out that they do not have a dress code. Their roof lounge is actually a small outdoor patio off of their restaurant. They also have a ballroom on the floor for wedding receptions, which resulted in an interesting mix of crowds. The night we went, both elevators broke down and all the wedding, restaurant, and bar guests were guided through the slow service elevator that led to the restaurant’s kitchen. We had their Mango Fizz(sweet and not too strong = perfect for me), French Kiss Martini(yummy until that aftertaste hits you), and Maple Manhattan. Their free wi-fi was incredibly fast. Their staff service, wi-fi, Mango Fizz, and views are 5-stars! Next time I’m in Toronto, I’ll be sure to bring my best dress ;)

Really one of Toronto’s best bars/light dining venues. Great location, great view, great ambience. Small, so big groups can be awkward. At peak tourism/conference/festival space limited. Off season. one of Toronto’s best places to chill.

Probably the best view of downtown Toronto and the CN Tower that you can get. It’s literally breathtaking. In addition to this, it just so happens to be an awesome bar that not too many people know about from what I understand. There’s seating on the balcony outside that wraps around and provides an even better view. The inside is cozy and has just enough seats to keep the setting sort of intimate. It’s more on the upscale side as most of the people appeared to be the after work crowd or business people who were staying in the hotel. Either way, it was a laid back, professional, gentlemen kind of establishment. Cocktails were really good and the bartenders were definitely experienced professionals. Good liquor selection and good crowd. A really solid place.

Spectacular view of Toronto and the CN Tower. Drinks were superb. My father had the«best martini of his life» prepared by a very friendly, knowledgable bartender, Gerry. We fly standby and were originally trying to fly to Scotland. As luck would have it, we ended up in Toronto at this beautiful hotel being served by a Scottish native. Gerry was a wonderful bartender and gave us that taste of Scotland we had missed.

This place is seriously over-priced and the drinks are pretty bland. I went here on May 5, 2013 and it was lovely. Drinks were a little pricey but there are places that are higher. So the following year I returned. What the hell? The prices are through the roof — $ 24 for a Martini?! — and the service was substandard at best. The first drink I ordered was their house Old Fashioned. The barkeep made it and then had a 3 minute conversation with one of the staff with my drink melting on the bar between them. It was pretty weak and, unimpressed, I asked if the barkeep could make me something off the menu. He said sure so I asked for a Hornet’s Nest. He’d never heard of it and asked me what was in it. I gave him the recipe, which was for a 3oz drink, just like a lot of their $ 20+ drinks on the menu. He refused to make it even though he had all of the ingredients. «Why?» «Because it would cost you a fortune.» «It’s 3 oz –» «No, not gonna make it.» Ridiculous. I ordered Sapphire Martinis the rest of the night. My table spent north of $ 400 and I regret choosing this place as a birthday spot. I’ll never go back. For those of you wanting a better cocktail experience, try The Cocktail Bar on Dundas. $ 16 for the«cost you a fortune» Hornet’s Nest and made to perfection.

A great little bar with attentive staff and and great service. They have a very nice wine selection and make great cocktails as well. Several items on the bar menu are vegetarian friendly. This place has a very nice ambiance, it’s cozy, relaxed and classy all at the same time.

I want to write this review, but I also DON’T want to write this review because I want this place all to myself. This is the best bar that I’ve ever been to in the world. Yep. There, I’ve said it. My favorite bar in the world. Time here stands still. Actually, I wish it did, because everytime I’m at the rooftop, I emerge to find 3 – 4 hours have magically passed and I’ve done some serious damage to my credit card. The view of Toronto is stunning. The atmosphere is classy but relaxed in a library-leather couch-fireplace kind of way. Sinatra and big band greats filter in on the unobtrusive sound system. The bartenders are lifers. They’ve worked there for decades. We were at the lounge two years ago and had a couple of cocktails that changed our lives. Fast forward two years and the SAME bartender remembered us and we fell back into the same familiar banter and conversation. Speaking of cocktails, these are the best I’ve ever had, anywhere. My favorite is of course the old fashioned, but the maple manhattan is seriously amazing. Bourbon sour with Knob Creek or Woodford Reserve hits the spot too. The bartenders are true experts at their craft. The main downsides to this place are that it gets horribly crowded at night and the drinks are painfully expensive(martinis $ 20 – 22 and cocktails $ 18). To combat one of these ills, our favorite time to be there is in the afternoon, say 2 or 3ish. You can enjoy the breathtaking views without the crowds and learn more about the experts tending bar and crafting drinks. If you’re a fan of a stiff drink and some quiet conversation, check out this gem at the top of the Park Hyatt.

Friendly attentive staff. We came up here one windy summer afternoon seeking to enjoy the view on the very small patio on the 14th floor where the bar was located. Alas, it was full so we were seated indoors first, with a promise that we would be moved outdoors once seating was available. We ordered a couple of drinks, with a couple of finger foods to match. Not soon after our foods arrived that our waiter informed us a spot had opened outside. We noticed the clientele here was of a mature 30s and up crowd, which was perfect for us as we did not want to go to the other well known roof top patios where there would be a pretentious group of people. The view outside did not disappoint. It faced south towards the financial district, with the gleaming CN Tower in the close distance. The atmosphere was not boisterous or overly loud, it was fantastic enough for a great conversation. Our waiter periodically checked in on us and filled our waters as well as inquired if we wanted more drinks. Not being the raging alcoholics we ultimately had two drinks each with a few orders of food. The staff was awesome and attentive, and even took photos of us when we asked them to. We will definitely come back on an evening at a later date to enjoy the skyline. Who knows, if the drinks are as good as they were this time, we may end up passing out in one of their rooms which I’m sure would cost a pretty penny… But, when you’re smashed, who the f really cares? Amiright? ;)

I discovered this small gem when visiting a friend for drinks who was actually staying at the Park Hyatt. Previous to this, I didn’t really have any reason to venture into the hotel. I’m happy to say that I did now because The Roof Lounge has become a regular spot for me, where I can enjoy a very well-crafted cocktail and indulge in the beautiful view of Toronto, all the while experiencing really great service. The chance to get a seat out on the roof patio is sometimes a bit of a wait, but that is no issue as you can have a drink inside at a table and as soon as your name comes up on the list for a vacancy, the friendly staff will move whatever drinks or food you have to your new table outside for you. Upon arriving at your table you receive a tray of assorted bar snacks– pretzels, marinated olives and almonds that are, yes, served warm. It’s the small touches that make you really appreciate this lounge. Some drinks that I’ve had and highly recommend– my all time favourite Green Tea Martini, as well as, the infamous Vesper Martini(not on the menu) from the James Bond novel, made with gin, vodka and Lillet, certainly a must try. In terms of food, the Four Cheese Cracker Crust Pizza is a lovely accompaniment to any of their cocktails. I highly, highly recommend The Roof Lounge if you’re looking for a not necessarily trendy spot, but a place you can sit back, relax, and just enjoy a good drink and good service.
