This Tim Horton’s is located on the first floor of St. Michael’s Hospital, near the gift shop. I imagine that’s why there’s always a line here with all the foot traffic generated by the hospital. You got your hospital staff, visitors, and maybe even some of the patients coming here for their fix. The service is pretty quick though, so don’t let the line scare you. Now I’m not a regular everyday coffee drinker, but I love their coffee because it’s not too dark or bitter. It’s Tim Horton’s over Starbucks any day of the week for me. I find the extra small and small size a bit funny because they don’t offer that in the States. So tiny, it’s like a shot of coffee. The medium is probably equivalent to a US small. Now that I have gotten the swing of things, I’ve even learned to order my coffee Canadian style — medium double double(double sugar and cream). How do they get it so perfect every time!!! I’ve also tried their delicious donuts. Boston Cream is my favorite. They also offer a lunch menu that includes soups and sandwiches. The cream of mushroom soup has a very strong mushroom flavor, but I like that. The chicken salad sandwich is decent. Oatmeal with mixed berries — $ 2/regular — Very good! Loaded with mixed berries(blueberry, strawberry, blackberry). Alternatively, you can get maple instead of the mixed berries. Cheese croissant — The taste reminded me of Cheez-its. I prefer the normal croissant. As a side note, one of my coworkers was juggling a laptop, some papers, a power cord and a full cup of Tim Horton’s coffee one morning and the next thing I hear is a loud thud on the ground. By some miracle, this unopened cup of coffee did not spill a single drop after falling from chest height. Amazing! I bet if it were a Starbucks cup, she would need a new coffee.
