It’s a fairly small branch on front street that you may miss because the entrance isn’t so clear. It still has about ten computers and somewhat decent room to study, its pretty open so it can get noisy but it not a bad branch

Finally, visited my local library and … not bad. The neighbourhood here is really nice, near st lawrence market, and other good eats. Library seems pretty small from the street, but the main entrance in the court yard is quite grand. I found some nice books inside, tintin and some travelling books. So, I will make sure to come back here to plan my vacation despite having my own lonely planet collection. Also, there is free wifi inside, a Best Bet collection(I believe newer books are featured here), and recommended books above the Hold shelf. Available Sun Life Financial Museum and Arts Passes 1. AGO(most popular) 2. Black Creek Pioneer Village 3. Museum of Inuit Art 4. Textile Museum of Canada 5. ??

When I walked by St. Lawrence Branch, I was thinking oh gee this place is small. because look like it just occupies 1 store front… yes me trying to get in through the emergency exit… The real entrance is inside the courtyard and it does look pretty nice… the front kind of echo the design of St. Lawrence Market… «Be Quiet» «Not Cellphone» «Quiet Study Zone» signs are posted everywhere… Maybe this location really have problems? The collection here is a little small… does not have a lot of electrical outlets for laptops… but since it was built 1982 without any major remodelling before WIFI time.

After moving here six weeks ago, it seemed befitting to visit my local neighborhood library. The small cramped space resembles someone’s recreation of a 1950’s movie set. The ladies at the front desk seemed suspicious of my California Drivers license and local proof of mailing address, and asked for two pieces of mail with the address. Did I look like a periodicals’ thief? After the identification process, which seemed much more through than filling out an application for an American Express Platinum card I was given a library card. Too bad I wasn’t looking for movies on VHS tapes, since that seemed to be the bulk of the inventory here at the Front Street location.
