Small neigbourhood branch, there isnt much to this library, no special programs or history(as far as I know). Decent collection, about half a dozen computer and 2 main table that have outlet to use for computer and various small seating around just sit down and relax. They also have a theatre/program in the basement

I have always loved the Toronto Public Libraries. I grew up going to the Fairview Mall library(which, at the time would have kids perfomers and a neat play area, no idea if they’re still there). I remember the excitement of a book mobile coming to our elementary school/neighbourhood(still excites me — an entire library coming to me!!!). The library asks nothing from you but to be respectful of others and of their materials. I can take these home to read/watch/listen to — FORFREE! There are super helpful(and always friendly) librarians who are excellent resources and fonts of information. I can get free passes to museums and galleries from here. I can go watch free movies and see free perfomances. I use it to sign out books on my kobo. I LOVELOVELOVE the library. You should too. This particular branch is the closest one to me. You get your mix of parents with their little ones, folks from the area and homeless people — like real life. I love this location because of the experience I have there. I always walk away feeling like I’m so lucky to have this library(and its staff!) near me.

This library is pretty nice. It’s not as great as the newly refurbished Bloor Gladstone branch, but it’s close to home and has a few nice features that make it special. This library has a theater attached which the Fringe Festival uses each year for events. They also host FREE regular movie nights every Thursday evening and Tuesday matinees for the kids. I went and saw Avatar for free, which I thought was pretty cool. They also do puppet shows and other children’s entertainment. The actual library is quite small so there isn’t a huge selection of books, but there is a large selection of fiction, plus children’s books and Korean, ESL and Spanish language books(very appropriate for the neighbourhood). They also have 6 internet workstations. Open late(8:30pm) 3 times a week(Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)
