I love this place. I both want everyone to know about it, and like no one. But realistically most people aren’t awesome enough to find watching honest to goodness films the ultimate Friday night activity. the popped corn is awesome, generally seem to have something sweet(once it was candy the next week doughnuts). regardless the place is really cool, and now have longstanding plans to be there every Friday. barring like partying too hard on a Thursday or maybe work. Maybe. Pretty much my favorite place I’ve learned of happening in this city.

I should come here more often. Trash Palace is paradise for underground cult cinema lovers, set in a building with an address that’s not promoted to the masses. Remember that classic episode of BH90210, where the gang goes to exchange an egg for rave directions at a convenience store? This is kind of like that, albeit with a little less catty drama and more standard publicity.(Go to Tequila Bookworm. Shell out money. Get ticket. Get address.) I visited the Palace for an old flick about a man with two heads, which was introduced by a series of other quirky shorts. It’s truly obscure stuff, collected by a group of dedicated film buffs who scour eBay and other online sources for any 16 mm films they can get — the more«trash“esque, the better. The formula works, too; the audience is just as enthusiastic as the programmers, and a regular seems to appear on a weekly basis. Probably helps that there’s beer on hand and that the venue feels more like your friend’s basement than a cinema house. Fun place to get together with nerds who like things on the quirky side.
