Description

Specialties

We specialize in yoga for children. At Trunk to Tail we PLAY yoga rather than practice it. Classes are fun and interactive — children are encouraged to share ideas and use their imaginations. Stories, songs, games and imaginative play are incorporated to bring yoga to life! Relaxation and mindfulness are a large part of our programs. Children develop awareness of their body, mind and heart (emotions).

Trunk to Tail kids yoga is practiced in a nurturing, stress free, non-competitive and supportive environment. Trunk to Tail honours a child’s development, nourishing their body, mind and soul through, play, movement, relaxation, mindfulness and creativity.

History

Established in 2014.

Trunk to Tail start in the Spring of 2014. We have had the opportunity to play yoga with children and families across the city — from Toronto East to Toronto West.

Brittany’s passion for early childhood education, yoga, music and child development drove her to create Trunk to Tail. She wanted an opportunity to help children learn and develop in a supportive, nurturing and fun environment. She is a Registered Early Childhood Educator, Certified Kids Yoga Instructor and currently completing her Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Music Education at the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Business Owner

Trunk to Tail was created by Brittany Logsdon, an Early Childhood Educator with a passion for movement, play and yoga! Brittany believes that children learn best through play and movement, when their whole bodies — from trunk to tail — are engaged.

Brittany has worked with children and families in many different settings and capacities over the past 10 years. She has spent time in parenting centres, after school programs, child care centres, and with the school board. All of her experiences have helped her understand and appreciate the differences of each child and family.

Her knowledge of child development helps Brittany tailor each of her classes for the age group she is working with, and make adjustments based on each individual child’s needs.

Brittany loves to share her joy of play and movement with children and families! She is grateful to be working in a field that makes her smile, laugh, and love! Her goal is to help each participant leave her class feeling happy, he
