Anna is fantastic! I got my hair coloured with peak-​a-​boo highlights underneath to bring out multi dimensions in the colour and I love the colour! Anna actually got me to come back the next day (offered same day– but was more convenient for next) to add more highlights underneath at no cost– just because she thought it would look even better– and I agree! I do not love the cut, but mainly because my hair is in a growing out phase and to make it more even, she cut off more than I expected.
It is a great salon and I will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful experience here today. I came in to use a groupon for highlights and a cut but my hair was recently henna’ed so they kindly explained that highlights were out of the question — my hair would’ve turned green. Instead they offered a nice all-​over colour and gave me a great haircut that I am thrilled with. I really enjoyed my time here and would go back for the warmth of the staff and the very good advice I got.

I used a Groupon to have highlights in order to cover some minimal gray. Unfortunately, the highlights were so light that I now look as though I have considerably more gray. I need to go to the additional expense of having another salon fix it. In addition, I emailed them on three occasions and never received a response. Very poor customer service. Do yourself a favour… avoid!

I was worried about going as I read the reviews after buying my groupon. However, everything was great. No «hidden» fees. My dye job was great and I love my haircut. My stylist’s name was Tanya and I fully intend to go back again. I don’t know why anyone else had issues, but I can honestly say I had a good experience and would recommend

Had a great experience here. I have only good things to say about it! The ladies here are lovely and conversational. It’s a very warm and welcoming environment and I love how they offered coffee during my appt. prices are more than fair and great for the job they do. I got my hair colour stripped back to my usual or natural colour and they did a great job and my hair feels great. also I like how every tenth visit you get ten percent off a hair treatment!

I am so thankful to Anna and her staff for fixing an awful colour job I had done at another salon. My hair has gone through so much in trying to dye it back blonde from dying it almost black last year. After trying multiple salons and having many bad experience (overly damaged hair and having an awful orange colour at my last visit) I came to Anna after seeing the job she had done on my friends hair (my friend went from brown to a beautiful blonde and her hair looks so healthy). Annalyn and her staff took amazing care of me and turned my hair back to it beautiful blond shade I’ve been trying to get back for over 14 months. I am so so so happy. I was so confident after my colour I decided to also put extensions in my hair to add more length. I’ve had extentions before but saw Anna apply them while I had my hair dyed and loved the way they looked. I wanted them the exact same same. Anna ordered them and drove to pick them up from the supplier because I was keen on having them done same day. Normally you have to come back a few days to a week later. I couldn’t believe the amazing customer service I got. Needless to say not only do I love my colour, my hair looks gorgeous. Thank you so much Anna, Elena and the rest of the amazing staff at Unique Hair.

I went to this salon because there was an ad on groupon for a great deal! The deal was $ 59 for a haircut with style, deep scalp treatment with massage, and full color. As soon as I got there the owner of the store was being very rude to me, didn’t even greet me. Her first impression was terrible and everything else went terribly from that moment on. I told her I know there may be a $ 10 charge for hair below the shoulders and she said that applies to the haircut. It will be much more for colour. So I asked her how much more and she told me $ 100. I was outraged. I told her what color I wanted & she immediately said that it would bleed because it’s red, my pillows will be red, it’s too high maintenance, she won’t do it. I could not believe how she was speaking to me. It’s like as soon as I walked in the door she didn’t want to serve or help me. I traveled so far for this appointment and she wanted to charge me so much more for this colour even though it was advertised differently on groupon. She also blamed groupon for their wording. She said I needed to check the fine print about colouring because there’s a bigger charge. There is nothing about that on the groupon. I ended up getting the haircut and style. She still charged me an extra $ 10 for the cut and threw in a conditioner to make up for not colouring my hair. Unbelievable. What a waste of my time. I would have rather her salon not answer the phone when I called to make the appointment. I did not appreciate how she treated me or the waste of time coming to her salon. The actual hair stylist that cut my hair was lovely. The owner, the complete opposite. I would advise customers to look elsewhere for better treatment.
This salon is TERRIBLE.

I bought a groupon for this place — having read good reviews I was expecting a good haircut.
I walked in and was greeted by this woman on her iphone clearly preoccupied by something… I waited a bit and then said hi I have an appointment at 3. She said go take a seat. (very rudely without even making eye contact or anything).
I waited about 15 minutes until she said come here… So I followed her to the sink where she gave me a wash and then brought me back to the chairs where she failed to give me a smock thing so my clothing got soaked…
I told her I was growing out my bangs, wanted to keep my hair long and didn’t want too many layers (not the most entertaining hair cut but that’s what I wanted).
She begins untangling my hair and decides it is too tangled for her and goes back to the desk and her phone telling me to untangle it myself… I have never ever been asked to do something like this at a salon.
She comes back. She begins cutting biiiiiiiiiig chunks off… like at least 5 – 6 inches and I am thinking in my head… Wow that’s really long but it was too late to say anything by then as it had already been cut off. And then she cuts my bangs! I was really shocked but it was definitely too late to say something after that because it was done without confirmation that I actually did not want bangs…
Anyway after it’s all done she keeps saying how good the cut is and I just nod…
She charges me $ 15 in taxes which I find is more than usual and she kept staring at me so I decided to give her a $ 5 tip. All in all I paid $ 50 for a groupon that was supposed to be 29.00. If I am paying the tax on the full amount this means that the haircut was worth $ 100???
Anyway, I don’t recommend this place to anyone…

Yesterday I biked by this place near College/​Ossington and saw there glowing neon sign mentioning suntanning… I was thinking… Yeah Vitamin D!!! The sign was calling me!!! So Today when I was going out that way on my bike, I stopped in with my eye wear and entered the shop. There were some ladies doing hair, and some getting their hair done as well. The place is extremely clean, like Eat off the floor. Stephanie, a young woman there welcomed me, talked to me in detail about the tanning bed and tanning packages. No pressure, A very nice woman. I paid for my tanning, went into the stand up bed, and enjoyed ten fabulous minutes of tanning. They assured I had eye wear which is very responsible, and the tanning room was well organized and clean. Stephanie came right in the room with me and showed me how everything works, one MEGA BONUS… they give you ten minutes to get your lotion on and everything… no rushing!!! As for the Salon part… The other ladies, clearly European gave me that Norm entering «Cheers» feeling with warm Euro Smiles & Friendly hello’s and Goodbyes. I like the place, I will be back. Also, several city bike posts out front, Ultra Handy.
Highly recommended for affordable stand up tanning with very new bulbs.
