Went there this past weekend to try a new spot. Didn’t have an appointment and they were pretty busy so it was about 35mins wait but it didn’t feel that long. The place has a good vibe to it, everyone seems very friendly. Annie did my bio-​gel fill and she was super, very clean and attentive. Love the color I chose, a bright green and a blue sparkle (Starry Night) and very good price! Will definitely be coming back here for sure!

Was here earlier today and am disappointed and slightly pissed off to be honest. Saw good reviews for this place and thought I would stop by as it was close by to where I would be earlier that day. My cousin also had a good experience so I thought I would try! I got a mani-​pedi and while the price was decent ($ 35), the service and job was not up to par. Firstly, the water was cold to begin with. My cousin started her pedicure immediately with someone. I waited a good ten minutes before someone finally started on me. Okay, whatever. Tom was rushed and impersonal. The massage was one of the worst I’ve gotten. The hot towel was cold by the time it got to me for both the manicure AND pedicure. The lotion was sparsely used and I was being yanked during the massages. Afterwards during dry time, no one came to make sure that our nails and toes were dry. Also, because I was rushed from the pedicure table to the manicure table, I almost forgot my scarf. Other places have someone work on your manicure while someone else works on your pedicure so you don’t have to have the inconvenience of moving from one place to another. Had I not remembered last second before leaving, I would have forgotten my scarf there. Final straw: I got home and notice a pain as I walk. He SCRATCHED MY FOOT DURING EXFOLIATION. Seriously?!? Definitely not going back.

I was very pleased with my service from Ken. It was my first time getting extensions and I opted for BioGel ($ 50 — no longer the $ 45 posted on their site) to prevent damage to my already weak and short nails. The service was 1.5h including shellac polish (+$ 5) and tips being applied. I asked some questions by email prior to know what to expect.
A good job was done and they gave me a nice almond shape (by request and recommendation of the best shape for my hands) and lovely matte topcoat on top of my shellac to make it matte. The end result is great. A little more care could have been paid to the bottom side of the nail which needed a little more clean up and a little more hang nail care. I was informed that they offer a quality guarantee so if they break they do free repairs.
Overall very good. I do wish the prices on their site had have been updated.

This is my new nail place to go! When I walked in it was quiet busy but the staff were very nice, I went in to get my acrylics filled in and replaced. The workers were very professional and made my nails look so natural it’s great! It’s just a fun place to go get your nails done and the price is pretty good too. Lovely experience will definitely come back again :)

Kevin did a stunning job with my nails! I got exactly what I wanted!!! Please keep in mind, I am incredibly picky lol
I got the bio gel with color #53 Peaches. I don’t normally get my nails done so I had a million questions and had a picture on hand of what I wanted. Kevin was more than happy to answer my questions and recommended to get square shaped nails instead of the oval shape I originally intended to get. I’m so glad he did because I think it made my nails look much more elegant!
The salon was clean and the staff was friendly! Although it was super busy when I went, Kevin didn’t rush my nails and paid attention to detail. Stopping every so often, making sure no pieces of cotton or specs of dust got on my nails and PAINLESSLY cut my cuticles. I really appreciate that!!!)The salon was clean and the staff was friendly! I love this place! Everytime I come to Toronto I go here to get my nails done. The people are really nice. It’s cheap and they do a great job! The décor is really great too. Especially for the price point. Black and white theme kind of posh, I like it. Get shellac done when you go! It’s totally worth the extra money your manicure will last for weeks

Went to get my nails done with my mother and sister, it was for my mother’s birthday and a first time experience for my mother and sister. They both requested a manicure and pedicure while I received the shellac treatment for my hands. Their service was wonderful, offering water or tea when we first entered and allowing my family to sit together while getting my nails done. They made my mother feel special as a few of them were mothers and shared stories about their children as well. The attendants were chatty, professional and very detail oriented. They moved quickly but did not compromise on cleanliness and we even got a hand/​feet massage. All utensils were from a fresh pack and the salon looked very modern. Overall, a great experience and I will be returning soon! Even though many chairs were filled in a weekday, they said that it wasn’t busy like it is on the weekend. Something to keep in mind when making your appointment.

Not only is the salon’s exterior and interior clean and beautiful, but the way you are pampered is nothing short of perfect.
Tracy did my finger nails and toes and unlike other salons, she was very concentrated on me as a client and did not rush me at all. She helped me choose which colour was suitable for my skin tone and I was even brought green tea and even got refills without being asked!
I’ve tried many nail salons in Toronto but this has always been my #1!

Roberto and I went in for a pedicure on Saturday as something different and fun to do. We were treated very well. The price, the service and the environment were all on par with what we expected. Friendly, efficient and overall a great experience.

I went here just recently and I loved it. They were very accommodating even if the salon was packed. I walked in and got seated to get my nails done right away. The service I chose was the bio gel as an overlay on my nails and I loved it.
My only problem I had was the extra 5 $ I was billed because a single tip had to be placed on my index finger for it to be even with the rest of my nails…*sighs* Though, the service itself was already rather pricey coming at 50 $ for bio gel and colour. If you’re willing to pay this price for your nails to be stronger and damaged less in comparison to acrylics; then by all means go ahead!
I will definitely come back when I have a chance :)

I have been coming here for the past 3 years. Mary is my girl and I see her every time. The services are at a great price point, fast, reliable and friendly. I visit this place every three weeks for a shellac mani and regular pedi for $ 55 cash. If you love shellac, this place is for you. They have so many colors that you are like a kid in a candy store. Great décor, busy & they take walk ins. If you have a favorite person, I recommend making an appointment.

I came in without an appointment on a Thursday afternoon and was able to get a spot in their very busy schedule. The place was fully packed. I’ve always strolled past this place previously but considered why they are always busy. It’s probably because they give quality service. I also loved this place for their selection of colors, which is a huge PLUS! I chose ‘salmon pink’ to get ready for the summer. The lady who did my nails (sandy) was exceptional! She was so efficient with my acrylic bio gel refill and made my nails look so natural. I loved how she cleaned up my cuticles and by far, this was the best manicure I have had in all of my nails experience. Overall, I would have to say this that this place has automatically become my go-​to place. I paid around $ 55 — tip included to get my bio gel refilled with cuticle clean up. It was worth every penny.

I heart Urban Nails because they have exemplary service for me and my doggie!!! You cannot beat that!!! They are efficient and friendly and if you pay with cash it is a bit cheaper. So I highly recommend this place and bring your furry friend along:)

Ever since Silvertips suddenly closed, I’ve been trying to find a new place in my area to get the occasional mani/​pedi. I don’t get my toenails or fingernails done regularly — it’s just a once-​in-​awhile treat, so when I do indulge, I want the experience to be the best it can be. After reading on BlogTO that Urban Nails was one of the top nail salons in the city, I knew it would be my next stop for my next indulgence.
Knowing that it came well-​reviewed, I planned my morning around arriving as soon as the shop opened (in this case, 11:00AM as it was a Sunday).
I rolled into the store at 10:59AM, expecting to be first in line for nail services. The place was packed! The first thing I thought was maybe they were serving a private bridal party who had made special arrangements for the store to open early for pre-​wedding mani/​pedis. After taking in the hustle and bustle that was happening before my eyes I realized it was actually just THAT busy despite the store technically not being open yet for another minute. Did I miss a «we’re opening early today» memo? Talk about unwanted surprises.
Thankfully, there was a single pedicure open, so I was seated quickly, and my pedicure was done almost just as fast. My nails looked nice and the polish lasted an awfully long time, but I never felt relaxed or at ease because the place was so busy! Clearly, the faster they finish with me, the faster they can get the next butt in the chair. I get it. I also hate it when a nail salon sends their customers the drying room/​wall/​corner/​abyss and then forget that they even exist. I never suffer from abandonment issues until I am sitting alone with my toes under a dryer for 20 minutes, hoping someone will come make sure I’m good leave without the worry of ruining my nails!
The price was ok. $ 34 after tip for my pedicure. I honestly think I could either a) spend more elsewhere for a more relaxed and leisurely pedicure experience, or b) spend less for the same level of rushed and frantic service elsewhere. I guess my hunt for a new nail place continues.

I walked in to Urban Nails and was greeted warmly. It was a Thursday afternoon and the place was quite busy. I didn’t make an appt. but was served right away and was asked if I’d like tea or water. I opted for water. I wanted a regular mani/​pedi (price $ 35). I was guided to an open massage chair where Katie helped me. She seemed friendly but kept speaking to the other staff in Vietnamese. She did a lovely job on my feet.
I told her that I was looking for a new salon since Silvertips closed down.
I am particular about my nails so I already filed and buffed them with my own less abrasive files. When I sat down for my manicure I let her know that but she took a file to my nails anyway. I snatched the file and buffer away from her and reiterated I only wanted her to work on my cuticles, massage and polish. Her response to this was a snarky aside in Vietnamese w the girl beside her.
The final job looked great but I miss Silvertips.
Another fellow Silvertips patron was sitting beside me and she said they weren’t attentive to her waxing needs. She seemed annoyed.
All in all it was a good job but not the quality of service I’m used to. I will continue my quest for a neighbourhood nail salon.

It isn’t often that I write reviews, but Urban Nails deserves a 5-​star rating.
After searching around Toronto for a nail salon that offers bio gel for a competitive price AND offers quality service for months, I was referred to Urban Nails by a client. I was told to see Jenna who apparently did a great job with shape (believe it or not, it’s nearly impossible to find a competent person to do this). When I came into salon, it was clean, everyone was extremely sweet and friendly, and again … It was CLEAN.
Unfortunately, Jenna was not in so I was passed on to Lina. Lina is so kind, sweet and accommodating. She now does my nails every 2 weeks because she is truly an artist! She is always willing to try crazy nail art with me and is a perfectionist. GO TO URBAN FOR GREAT NAILS! I trek from the west end all the way to danforth for this place and it is worth it.

This is my go to place in Toronto. Typically, I don’t bother with nail spas in Toronto. They just don’t seem to have the patience or the proper tools to do a real good job. Nail clippers are not the proper tools… But you have to somewhere…
I met Kevin the owner when he worked on Parliament Street many years ago and knew him well before he opened this place on Danforth. I liked him instantly and admire his work ethic, I like the cleanliness of the salon, which is the most important feature in any salon.
I think Kevin is doing a good job and running a great shop and is one of the good guys that we should support.

I usually stick to the same place but I heard so many great things I decided to give it a shot. I got my usual UV Gel full set because I work in a salon and I need something a little more durable than acrylic…
My visit here was very rushed, and I felt like since I was her last client she just wanted to leave. My nails were looked great! But were SOOO thin that the minute I walked out the door to go home, anything they touched cracked them. Putting on clothes, crack. You get the idea. Not like I could go back to her that day because her shift was done and she didn’t even check on me.
Anyways I’m very picky and they look great however, what did I pay $ 40 for? Press ons?
Because I like the people I will be returning, just not to that technician.
