Very good selection of kids clothing so if you need to buy kids stuff then come here. This time at this location I found no surprise designer pieces — with the one exception of J Brand jeans… but of course not my size. Most of the women’s clothing was not impressive so I just browsed. This location is pretty big and well laid out — furniture in the back, Halloween costumes out(countdown is on — 33 days left!) and housewares on the side. If you are an avid reader this location also has a ton of books — looks like a mini library! As with any Value Village you must keep coming back a few times to find something you want. You need to go in with the attitude that you are just looking… but not for anything specific because you will always be surprised.

My first visit to this Scarborough location. It’s clean, well organized and well run from what I can see. They even have those new stable change rooms with big mirrors that I’ve been hearing about from my friends outside Toronto. On this visit, no surprise sightings of discarded designer clothing. But as the store got busier it seemed apparent that the primary clientele are mums with young kids and that may explain the very good selection of children’s clothing, games and books. Nice housewares department and a good selection in furnishings as well. Prices are notably lower than at the downtown locations — that may make it worth checking out if you happen to be in the neighbourhood.

I came here looking for a Halloween costume and walked out with an amazing pirate get-up. There are plenty of cheesy Halloween costumes, but what I love is looking at the ‘real’ clothes and finding winners to implement in my costuming. My pirate costume ended up being mostly real clothes supplemented by accessories from the Halloween costume section(a sword for $ 4, a parrot to sit on my shoulder for $ 10…). I would definitely come back here for costumes, and they also had a random selection of old board games and some cheap books which I would enjoy looking at in the future.

I don’t go for clothes, so I can’t put any input on whether it’s a good place to shop for that. On the other hand, they seem to have a lot more video game related stuff than most other places, and they aren’t priced too bad, either(I’ve scored stuff like FF8 for $ 5.). Don’t know the reason behind it, but I’m not complaining.
